Suggestions Needed

Okay, I keep asking this question and I never get a satisfactory answer. I even asked it here once upon a time, but I'm back to try again!

I need a bra! STOP RIGHT THERE! Before you make a comment, please read the rest of what I have to say. I've been trying to get a suggestion on this for the past three years and I'm sick of hearing the same things. So please, read everything here because more than likely, I've already tried whatever it is you're about to tell me.

According to my measurements, I wear a 42B. But any time I've purchased a 42B, my breasts don't even touch the insides of the cups, the same is true for a 42A. The reason for this is because cis women who have a band size of 42 are overweight and thus have more flesh to put inside the bra. Testosterone poisoning did it's evil work on me for almost 30 years though, and my chest has very little fat, it's just an extra, extra, extra large rib cage. What I need is a bra designed for this, it doesn't have larger than normal cup size, and the band is still big enough to go around me.

Now, I know that there's at least one company out there that claims to make bras for trans women. But at $80 or more, I want some reassurances that I'm not wasting my time going through yet another return process. So, what I would appreciate SO, SO, SO, SO, SO MUCH!! Please, my trans sisters, please tell me that you have this same problem and what, if any companies you know of who make a bra that MAY fit halfway decently! So far all I wear are sports bras because it's the only thing that will fit, but I would LOVE to actually have some nice looking, pretty bras instead of something that screams "fitness room reject".

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cindy I know finding a good fitting bra is a challenge.  You are right that sizes don't necessarily correspond to our bodies, or anyone's body!  When I was ready to give up on sports bras I just went into Walmart, then Kohls and tried on lots of sizes and styles.  I avoid ones with underwire as they never fit me well.  I like Warner's.  Its called "Blissful Benefits" and it has a slightly padded cup with enough curvature to make things interesting.  The price on these are great.

Even though I measure a solid B their A cup fits me well.  But I also have a B that fits good so you have to try them on.   You might have a hard time finding the smaller sizes but be diligent and try different stores.

Cheers, Jani

My best fitting bras are actually the front closure models.  I am at 10 years on HRT though, and my subcutaneous (just under the skin) fat does push into the cups a bit more than it did at first. My boob tissue also goes under my arms and I need it pushed forward a bit, which needs "boning" right under the armpit.   The front closure's that fit me best are Just My Size brand, but I also have bras in about three nominal sizes from different brands.

Hi Cindy, I’m a 75 year old transgender woman who is no on HRT.  I wear a bra everyday and have found that the Hanes Comfort Fit Flex bras work best for me. I’m a 40A so the large size fits well.  I don’t have much breast tissue but these bras fill my need to be feminine.  I’ve also learned that we have a sister size in bras.  I purchased a Bali double support bra in size 38B.  It fits great and actually creates a boob that nearly fills the cup.  This bra is very pretty and they sell matching panties as well.

Good luck.

I e gone through the saaaaaame thing, and size issue too. When I first started measuring and trying to buy bras, I started at size 42B. Cups were useless, the cups ended up looking like a deflated nerf balloon, ?. I read up more and tried a “Hanes Women's Convertible Seamless Wire Free Bra,” on Amazon (Price around $12.94, so It’s not a big money loss I feel it doesn’t work right) . They are wire free, unlined/ no cups. I’m wearing a pink one right now. They fit great and are comfy too. The convertible part means “Adjustable straps easily convert from regular to criss-cross for convenient versatility,”  which offers more support if desired. My breast have been forming and growing slowly so I’m waiting until they grow a bit more before I bother getting one with any padding. I have several sports bras I put on depending on the weather, a couple have lace on top that look nice.

I am thinking about getting an unlined push up bra to see if that might work, since it would not have cups. Plus I’m about a 39B now, since I’ve lost weight in my back, so I’m curious how the newer sizing would look.

As mentioned try unlined/no cups, and wirefree type. Some bandeau bras have removable padding or non at all.

Best of luck finding your bra(s)!

I use a company called dainty lady. They have bra's for the smaller woman (trans not mentioned anywhere as far as I have seen) and actually do down to AAAA size cups with 42 band (not sure about Uk / US size differences) so may be helpful. I find their products well made and not too expensive (around $30 in Uk). They are made to order, I think, so deivery is slow (~1 month), but they do deliver worldwide.

That third love company Mary mentioned seems like it could be great. I have looked into it myself but it comes with that hefty price point. I also think the extenders on a smaller bra could help as well. I’ll ask some of my friends too. If they have any better ideas I’ll message you.

I"m surprised that no one has suggested Her Room yet.  (http://www.herroom.com)   They have a ton of different sizes and colors, and are super helpful.   They also constantly have sales, so their prices are as good as you would get at Kohls.

I'm curious, but then if I am true to myself, I have a hard time being in crowds.  I love hearing great music, but being in an audience is such a turnoff for me that I don't go to concerts or bars.  I'm just very much a producer.  I actually like doing the dishes more than going to concerts because it's an active thing.

My therapist is trying a new tact. I've named my self protection self that ssays not eating or too much exercise because when I starting because oftrauma my protective self started and also at the time the name Shay came to me and is now part of my name.  It's not like having a split personality, just my primative self protection who is always there to help me. My therapist has Shay, me and him working as a team to assure her that I am safe and to start changing her role in my life so I protect me by eating right and exercising to maintain a heathy body. It is helping a little but we just started this a few weeks ago.

Good morning, everyone!!   Yesterday was lawn mower battery day. I've been nursing the battery on my Zero Turn mower for two weeks. It gave up the ghost when I stopped to refuel yesterday so I had to run over to the local shop to get a new one. And forgot my wallet so I had to drive home and back again.   Then, I was using the garden tractor with the bagger to pick up the clippings. I cut about 7 acres so it took me awhile. When I was done, I went to refuel it and, of course, it wouldn't start when I'd finished putting in the gas. I'm hoping it was just some corrosion on the cables - cleaned them up, gave it a quick charge and it started right up. We'll see if it will hold a charge now or turn out like the Zero Turn.   House cleaning day today. And then I'm going to just relax outside for a bit and enjoy one more warm day before our temps drop and rain comes in for the weekend.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!!

I attend a medical day-centre in Texas for needed medical services. It's religious oriented, so not gender fluid friendly. I of course dress 100% in female attire yet androgynous to keep both "them happy", and I really don't mind.    I of course am imposed rules that no other participant is bound by. The examples are the allowed size of my backpack, or how many visits per day I can see my Representative payee.  The gender neutral restroom use was a compromise that all off us have agreed to.  Not being able to wear tanks tops or shorts that aren't "Bermuda length" are other examples of where I am restricted more than any other participant. "Bra talk" is strictly forbidden, even though their doctor and occupational therapist were the ones that told me I needed support due to neck pain.    I found myself being reprimanded by staff three times yesterday for very petty details, and they have constantly pushed for me to remove myself from the program voluntarily. I am of course someone not welcomed in the program, but federal discrimination laws prevent them from removing me. They instead are just making life miserable with the hopes that I will leave on my own.

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.
