Hello. My name is Sabrina. (MtF) I only realized I'm trans this year in March. I'm 46 and working towards surgeries. My favorite things to do are read and go to fantasy/sci fi conventions. I dont have many trans friends at all. It doesn't help that I have anxiety and am pretty awkward.?

I get being awkward. I'm queen of the geeks (Seriously. Geekiest person at my D&D table. Easily.). I'm less awkward now that I'm out if I'm being honest. Avid reader. Haven't been to a sci-fi convention in a while, but I used to go to Origins and GenCon every year (haven't because of money considerations, sadly).

 

Before I came here, I had like one other trans friend. Keep in mind we're about 1 in 200. There aren't that many of us and we don't really stand out. I know some people from group though. Not really well enough to call them friends though because divergent interests (see Queen of the Geeks, above).

 

Hope to hear from you. You can ask us anything and we all do our best to help each other along.

Welcome Sabrina, no Trans friends yet?  That's probably going to change fairly soon.  It did for me after I started my transition last year.  They're are likely a few of us around but the chances are low they'll be knocking on doors looking for you.  Put yourself out there a bit and try to find some new friends in your local Trans community...maybe a support group of some kind.  In the meantime, we are here to help in any way we can.

 

I'm glad you found us.  I'd enjoy reading more about you and your journey.

As they say. Better late than never. Many on here started later than they would have wished to so. me being one of them. You are not alone.

 

As far as surgery goes. walk before you run. Only you know how you feel and those feelings may change. Be sure before you commit to anything life changing.

Well take a look above this post and maybe below. WE are all potential new freinds. Granted its only the internet. But freindships can be formed in many ways. You have come to the right place.
