I am new here and look forward to meeting everyone here . My name is Aidan and I would prefer he/him pronouns, I am a pre-T trans-male. I am in my junior year of high school. Unfortunately my family is transphobic but I am out to them, school is pretty awkward but I feel happier as me. I am still exploring sexuality but I have a love for the ocean  I realized I was trans around 8th grade and now I am in 11th so around 3 years now, but only this year I came out to my family.

Welcome to Trans Pulse, Aidan.  I like that name, BTW.  Congrats on coming out to the family, but I wonder what their reaction has been?  Are they at least tolerating your new identity, allowing you to dress, cut your hair, etc?  Or are they being restrictive and unsupportive?  I hope its the former.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Also to answer a few questions, My parents pretty much disregard my want to become a boy. So it could be worse I guess, though they will never call me Aidan, at least I can choose where I buy my clothes. I am actually getting a hair cut today so that's pretty cool haha

Hi there Aiden, Welcome!  It's good to reach out in difficult times.  We can be a very helpful bunch and I'm sure many of us can relate to some of your situation.  You're way ahead of the curve knowing what you want for yourself this early on. It took me years to find myself.  Thanks for sharing a part of yourself with us all.

 

Good luck with the hair...it can sometime be very stressful finding the person that can do it like you want it.

Hello Aiden,.  Sorry to hear about your folks but its their call.  Continue your education so you can support yourself in a manner you wish.  I understand school can be hard when you're trans.
