Hello! Vivian here :)
I just wanted to let you all know how excited I am to be on Transgender pulse! I look forward to assisting others in need because I've been through things alone like we all have and no one ever deserves that, but it happens and that's one of the many reasons why i'm here! I'm also 163 days far along in my transitioning journey so you could say I'm premature LOL, I'll definitely be having some questions along the way but until then, I'm going to push myself to dedicate to this website so i can become a part of an awesome community?

Again I'm looking forward to my future and the future of this community! If you see me around the forums don't be afraid to connect with me!

Hello Vivian,

Welcome from a fellow Canuck just north of you, next door. :)

You will find a lot of friendly and helpful people here and always willing to share time over a cup of coffee or tea or just a sit time and relax. :)

I am more of a lurker at the moment.  Trying to find out what my next step will be, after having my appointment cancelled by Clinic 554 in mid December, I have not found a good alternate path as yet to replace theirs in a reasonable time frame.

Big Canadian Hug

Hello neighbour! The people I've met on here haven't made me think otherwise so i'll believe you! Thank you for the reassurance ?

I wish you health & success on your journey and by success i mean happiness ❤️ May I ask why your appointment was cancelled?

Anyone I have heard or interacted with on this site have been nothing but supportive and beautiful people to those they responded to.  Heck, they even acted real. :)  They get aggravated too when they see wrong being done to others just like I do. I bite my tongue and stay low though.

Unlike the IWK, NS Health clinics, ect in Nova Scotia, our main clinic is "Clinic 554" is privately funded by the their own efforts. As you may or may not know, they have not obtained additional government funding for the extra services they provide (abortions sent from hospitals). They have put the clinic up for sale and declined taking on NEW transgender patients. They can not see the patients through to the level they feel comfortable passing off to one's GP. So, my first appointment was cancelled less than 48 hours prior to. It is why I have been so quiet and not trying to throw a wet towel on a great clinic in my province.

Since then I have been more or less stagnant in my progression, but I have decided to promote as much encouragement as I can to others here and locally as well. :)

Big Hugs

JoniSteph

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

No, they are the only provider of services I need an my area. 😑

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Anyone play war and order on their phones?

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!
