New Kid

So we got a new kid on our bus a little while ago and of course he was cute, he was shorter than me and really hyper. He loved talking to me and I was terrified he would be disgusted I was trans. So the first day we met I had my crocheted pride flag on my bag and asked him if he knew what it was. He smiled and said it was the trans flag, he then told me he was pansexual. We kinda just clicked as friends and sit with each other often. I told him about how my parents call me "Dan" which is short for Aidan and he called me Danny. My face was burning because it was a cute nickname. Today on the bus he was joking about how he was single and how he thought I would never date him, I didn't have the chance to say anything and he asked me to hold his hand, I hesitated but somehow managed to hold his hand. It turned out to be his birthday today so I drew his a character from jojo since it was his favorite and he loved it. I almost died when he said "How about a birthday kiss?" I couldn't tell if he was joking or not so I played it safe. It was really awkward and then he got off the bus because it was his stop. There is my current dilemma haha.

...and what a dilemma to have.  This sounds like more than a friendship might soon begin.  If you like him and he likes you and treats you nicely...why not?

Oh Aidan how... tragically adorable. He sounds like a real sweetie. May the two of you have many happy years of whatever you decide to be to each other. It sounds like a lovely friendship, maybe something more. Either way, take your time, don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable, and by the goddess have fun!

Thank you all so much, I am so excited for his house to be ready because he will be moving pretty close to me so we can hang out more. I won't rush into anything, I am really nervous but excited at the same time ack. Sadly we don't have school on monday due to martin luther king day, but I look forward to Tuesday! You must like him a lot. That might be the first time I've ever heard a teen say, "Unfortunately, we have a three day weekend."

Lucky dawg! I am sorry that I didn't see this sooner; good for you! One thing that people definitely value is confidence, so I think that you should go for it. You don't have to force anything, but this definitely sounds like somes clear hints. I mean, saying that you would never be his boyfriend and asking for a bairthdaykiss? My brain would have literally exploded. Next time something like that happens again, I would do something like shrug and say "I'm down". If they are not serious, then everything that they were saying was a joke and they will probably just laugh it off. However, if they were really flirting, then they will probably be happy that you are showing interest and continue down that line. Just some friendly advice from a peer!

He is so hyper and excited all the time it is adorable and hard to keep up with him, and I thought I was hyper!! But I really think he was throwing some hints at me and I am definitely taking them and keeping them. He seems like the kind who likes to tease playfully so I better watch out haha.
