Hi Jacob, the costs can vary greatly depending on the method prescribed, for example pill, patches, injections, sprays, gels, etc.

Attached is a link to WPATH Standards of Care document. This is comprehensive information, page 39 addresses risks in the English document for example. I recommend anyone considering transitioning to be familiar with this information.

For myself, I currently use Estradiol patches, I have insurance that pays for most of it, my out of pocket expenses is about $100 / yr for the patches. I also get tested and visit my Dr at least twice a year, most of that is covered by my insurance, but small co-pays  and lab fees of another $100 per year is needed. I see your country flag shows Lithuania, I can't answer to costs there.

Hope this helps

Best

What @Cyndee said. Here in the states what it will cost you depends on your insurance and will vary wildly depending on provider. A 30 day supply of Estridiol (for my dose) and Spironolactone costs $24. I no longer have to take the Spiro, so now it'll cost be about $20 a month or about $120 a year.

No clue what it costs in Lithuania, though it looks like you have a national health care system like a good, civilized country so I suspect it will depend on whether or not your national health care system covers HRT.

Hugs!

My two meds cost me $7 per 30 day supply at my dose.  After our deductible is met.  My first month was $51 for the same dose.  $7 for 11 months.

Just to chime in her, I also live in the U.S. and have had to self pay, I think the estradiol and spironolactone together cost about $30 per month? Don't know about anywhere else.
