I had my makeover today with my therapist.  It’s was so fun and we both giggled like high school girls the whole time.  He even canceled his next appointment to finish it up and take some pics.  Not quite a photo shoot he had planned but he got a few nice shots.

Ok so don’t laugh. Lol

I wasn’t out in public all that long.  Basically from his office across the parking lot and into my car.  Then drove home through town.
I did turn some heads tho.  It felt good to be “gawked” at.  Lol

i felt wonderful being just out there and just like anyone else.  I look forward to more outings.

Wow, you should have few issues in public, Shawna. I love the subtle highlights in your hair.  I wish I could wear darker lipstick.  It works well on you.  Very nice presentation. Lookin great girl!

Do you feel like you could go out in public again? It is much easier the second time and it only gets easier ? And the euphoria is so worth it!

How did you feel afterward?

I felt amazing.  I wasn’t nervous like I had thought I would be.  I just strut across the parking lot in my most confident female walk.  Chin held up and worked it!  Lol

I do look forward to being out there again with more interactions next time.

Very nice looking lady, ShawnaLeigh.

I'm impressed.

You should feel very pleased.

It made me smile when you said you both giggled so much.

Looking good Shawna.

Being honest. Your features are like a lady that i know who comes into my work. Just a diffrent hairstyle. So i dont think you really have much to be concerned about in that department. Going out in public as they say is just a matter of confidence building. if you are commited then that will come in time. You got the looks and im sure you have the talent.

As you said. "Chin up" and walk like you own the place.

Girl you have not to worry about...I hate using the phrase " Passing",( because it feels like we just pretending to be someone when in fact we're who we suppose to be,) But Girl Friend you not only pass but your present now...Be Proud, Stay strong and kick ass

Ack! How did it take me this long to find this thread? Rhetorical question, it was totally the pain drugs.

Still, you look great! I hope you learned a lot so you can do your makeup yourself. I mentioned this perk to my therapist, she just blew past it. I don't think I'm getting any help from her.

Absolutely stunning results! Seriously, you should be proud of yourself!

Hugs!

Thank you all.  It makes me feel so good to know all my true family here thinks this of me.  I finally see the real me and I can picture that women in the mirror now.  Even when I have to present male.  She is in there and she is beautiful.  To me that means the world.
I truly felt beautiful and my therapist is my hero.
My lessons are not over he said.  I don’t get off with one makeover.  Lol

You look super cute! I wish I had that innate cuteness, rather than the mug I was born with...

Your therapist gave you a makeover!? We need more therapists like that in the world...

I’ll say!  I hope Shawna left her a nice tip on the way out of the session.  That saved her a trip to Sephora.?

My therapist is FtM and was once a makeup artist in Boston putting himself threw school.  He has got skills.  He said one day out of the blue that he needed to teach me makeup for dysphoria issues.  So yea. Super awesome AND covered by insurance.  How sweet is that!!!

I was admitted upstairs for observation. The nurse last night took one look at me and said, "we need to use a FEMALE external catheter on you."   They placed a PureWick catheter over me and it's working great. If there isn't anything to connect a male catheter to it just isn't going to work.   So far I haven't passed more blood, and my abdomen does feel better. A specialist is supposed to see me today and perhaps order a colonoscopy to find out where all the blood came from.

Having taken on the site, forums, and all of the bills, from Dev (May 2020) and because I also want to be fully transparent about the cost of running the site, I feel it's time to update this information. Sorry that it has taken me two years since I last gave an update, just life getting in the way.   If you'd like to donate, please do so via the green bar at the top of the forum pages.  The months of July through October are pretty heavy with annual and semi-annual expenses and every little bit helps.   Here's the breakdown as it stands now:   Chat is now free. (Stu now runs the Chat)   Regular Charges: There are occasional one off's as well. Forums:  $70.00 every six months (February and August, effectively billed in January and July). (Was $45 until 2022, support ticket system depreciated!) Resource Locator:  $53.00 yearly, this "widget" failed this year, so I have been able to find a (currently) free replacement. Resource Locator Mapping: Google maps, currently under the minimum monthly usage, so free. Email Delivery: $5.00 monthly currently free, changed to a service that offers a much larger monthly allowance. Server Rental:  $30.00 monthly. Greatfully sponsored by The Breast Form Store. Security Software:  Now included in the package we have. Domain Renewals: Approx $75 annual charges for Transgenderpulse.com, Lauras-playground.com and the server domain. Contact Us Form Software: $79 yearly (August).   Total Monthly Breakdown: $54.50 per month.  (Annual bills = $654) Updated May 2024 (Slightly down on previous years).   Now then.  I'm on a fixed income, which means I know what it's like not having a penny to spare.  If you're not in a position to donate, please don't feel guilty; I didn't take over here to turn a profit.  The lights will stay on.  Donations are very much appreciated, but they are not a requirement of membership.   An update to clarify a couple of points: Because you have to use your legal name with PayPal, emails confirming your donation from PayPal will be from a name with the initials "DS", not Petra Jane and the email used is tgp (at) uk-web***   Unfortunately, we can only accept payment through PayPal, and please ensure that you have permission to make any donation through a PayPal account, we have been stung by someone alledgedly using a PayPal account without the owner's permission and incurred an additional $20 chargeback to refund the donation!   We have recently seen a number of these of late so I am asking that genuine donators please add your forum username in the comment box so that I, and I alone, will know who has sent the donation and that it is genuine. Thank you. Also, this appears only to Members who are logged in on the forums, New Members need to have made a minimum of 10 posts.   Let me reassure you: Donations help towards ongoing costs related to keeping the site running, including hosting, bandwidth, etc. It also encourages us to commit regular updates, add features, and improve the service. Our promise to you is that this site and its use will always remain free of charge.     Petra Jane
