The signs...

I just remembered this thing that makes it pretty obvious that I was trans from an early age:

When I was in middle school, there was this game called "Prodigy" that would test your math skills. It was actually pretty fun, and I got very far. Anyway, you got to choose your own character, and I instinctively made mine a boy named Giovanni. I only realized that it was weird when my teacher was asking everyone else what their character was so that she could record it, and I was the only one with a different gender. I was embarrassed, and just let everyone else think that my character, who was in the lead in every arena, was played by a different male classmate who was favored by the teacher. I still kind of regret that, because I never got any credit for it, and those who did know it was me made fun of me for it. Every game I was ever in I would be a male character, and I never even thought twice about it until now.

Another thing that I remember thinking like that was my eighth grade graduation. All of the guys wore dark blue robes, and the girls light blue. When we went to take our pictures, I tried pleading with the people to let me wear the dark blue, but they said that I wasn't allowed to and I almost started crying. I felt like an outcast, as all of my male friends got to be together but I had to be separate. I told myself and my family that I just liked the dark blue better, which I did, but there was also this want for belonging that I was missing out on.

I remember very early on, especially in school looking at the girl's dresses and wishing I could wear one. They were so pretty! In later days I went to the stores with my parents but they would never buy anything with flowers or similar pretty patterns even if nominally male. I think that is why I normally wear fairly plain patterned clothes now. Years of conditioning.

I relate so much, any game I played, without thinking I chose male. Though my brother always chose female and said "smaller hitbox" I really didn't care

Really? I always chose female and said, "I'm going to be looking at a butt for 100+ hours. I prefer this one."

Pfft! who said I didn't check out all the characters first? Especially UFC 3 where you can make your own character.

Well that's a given, I play more RPGs than fighting games anymore and I won't buy a RPG unless I can play as female. Back in the day though... I spent a lot of money on fighting games for the PS1, PS2, SNES, SEGA Genesys... I have a lot of vintage consoles. Not so many friends to play fighting games with anymore though.

Only true benefit to being in the girl's changing room, there were a lot of them bending over without much concern.

Every mmo I have ever played i have picked and customized my character to be female without pause every creation takes literal hours. Sadly most fighting games have a sparse selection of female characters that aren't just fan service, i enjoyed the soul caliber series?

I grew up playing "Mortal Kombat" and it's still my favorite series to this day. Besides maybe "Eyes of Heaven"

A frequent adage heard in 12 Step recovery circles -- Shit Happens!!  A little rougher version of FATE!!!

Sup singly, a superintendent prevented a student within the transgender community from changing current name, to the new name in which the student identifies with, I don't know how far back this story goes, but if you Google it under Oklahoma along with "student name change" the article should pop up. I'm not transgender, but I can relate to the process of legally getting a name change done, it's a lot of paperwork from court, a lot of traveling, and expenses depending on the laws from each state.

No one seemed to pay attention to me other than a young woman who complimented me on my skirt and an older gentleman who smiled at me as we passed each other.

Wow, I guess it’s the dat to be in trouble.  I’ve been hit twice by the ASM today and it’s my day off.  Why didn’t you, followed latter with a where is the.  Made me realize that I do t want to continue working long enough to pay for it. I guess I’ll just to have to stick with my 20 year old car for now.   I suppose sooner or later only one of us won’t be able to drive anymore.  Since I am older you might think it would be me but at this time i am the one that does all the driving except when she goes to church or the store when I’m at work.  She hasn’t driven anywhere since February and hasn’t driven more than 10 miles in perhaps a year.  Yet the “good” car was purchased for her not for me because she couldn’t drive the Jeep which we bought strictly for her because she wanted it.  But it turned out I was the one that really liked it.  Can’t win.

Had one like that one time that would bite you on occasion.  Got rid of that thing quickly.

Guess I won't need that kind of therapy.

I have been told that I "pass" better than I realize. I hope that is true.

Good morning :)   I have coffee today, but the cup keeps leaking (I guess the cap isn't able to fully seal or something), so I keep having to wipe up the sides lol   Almost finished all my missing work for school, which means if I do a bit more work, I should be out of trouble with my parents (not even that bad of trouble compared to when I was younger, more just an annoyance haha)

Sending good thoughts for you, Raine.

Good morning 😘   Finished packing up my kitchen and pantry for fumigation today. I also modified my backpack to make it day-centre compliant.  I was able to get almost 2 hrs sleep last night, so I'll survive. 😑

I'll be going to some Pride events as a spectator.  Maybe marching in a parade if they have open participation.    The event we'd prefer to go to is held in a small town with a population of less than 600.  They have a parade through all three blocks of their downtown area.  Unfortunately, this year it is on the same day as a memorial service for a friend who passed away this winter, so we'll have to miss it.  So our second choice is a larger town, population about 9000, a bit farther away.    And we are keeping our eyes open for other events in the general area as they are announced.   I dress a bit flashier than normal, with some trans bling, such as rainbow or trans flag earrings, a trans symbol pendant, and a handheld trans flag to wave.  Political sentiment is turning against us, but public sentiment here is still strongly on our side, so getting out and showing the flag, both literally and figuratively, is important.
