Hello everyone. My name is piper gray, im 23, and i joined yesterday. Ive been nervous to actually post anything and i hope i dont regret it.

Ive been trans for most my life but have only been indentifying that way for about 8 months. I joined looking for a supportive community that is willing to pass on tips to their sisters who are just starting all of this. truth be told im kinda overwhelmed xD.

Thank you! Ill unfortunately have to pass on the pie for fear of my kitchen. I cant cook to save my life! But as far as being trans goes. I guess you could say im not sure how to approach the waiting. Ive been on h.r. t. since june and while i was never very masculine, i still appear very manly on the outside and struggle to see anything other than my dead self.

Is it natural to second guess if you made the right choice? To wonder if im good enough to transition? Im so afraid of having to live my life as someone im not. But i cant seem to escape my old life either?

Hey  Piper.. Your in Oklahoma which is a tough place to be LGBT, but you super young which is great. As Always , best to start at yr age or younger make a big dif, your hair will grow out yr, face will become more refine , etc..Like Mary said, it's not going to be easy. F I am 56 being on HRT almost 16months and I still look like a man..it's really screws with my head and its not getting easier. Everyday I second guess my actions and to top it all off I am still find that I am attracted to woman. However, like I said you have a head start in yr youth..Mary is right..if you can find GT it would benefit you. Good  Luck keep in touch, Be safe , be proud and kick ass

Welcome. Piper!   You are definitely in the right place to find love acceptance and tons of support with your journey.  TP is an amazing place and it has literally saved my life.  My advice is read and participate as you feel comfortable and know that here there are truly no stupid questions or topics.  Just we are asked to keep things PG as we do have young folks here too.
Please don’t hesitate to open up and share your experiences as you will shortly find out you are not alone.
May I correct you on one point?  You have been trans since you were born.  As were we all.  I took 52 years to figure this out.  Lol

Salutations Piper and welcome to TransPulse!

So yeah, the occasional bout of doubt is pretty normal.  However,  here's the good news: You never need to take a step that you're not comfortable with. There is no set road map for transitioning. Nobody is going to be upset if you just do it your own way. It's about alleviating your body dysphoria and taking steps so you can learn to live comfortably in your own skin. The biggies to remember are: Cis people don't question their gender. Like Mary said, we're our own worst critics. Finally, don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable. This isn't a quick process. No need to rush into anything before you're ready.

In the meantime, here we are with experience, advice and snappy answers. There are no silly questions and we'll do our best to answer.

Hugs!

Welcome Piper.

This thing called transition is a journey.  It takes time but i'm glad to be on this road. Being here has helped me immensely.

Remember to breath deep and enjoy yourself.

Hello, and welcome, Piper!  I found this place because I was bookmarking just about every transgender-related thing I could.  I had asked on another board (inclusive, but not trans-specific) if anyone knew of a good forum where I could find a community, but no luck.  On an impulse, I signed up for the forum, and I have not regretted it on moment.  Everyone here is kind, caring, and affirming.  Most important, non-judgemental.  I have really found a home away from home here, and I hope you do as well!

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Anyone play war and order on their phones?

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!

Things hit the fan today. I was reminded that "this is not a gender fluid establishment."   I had changed my preferred name and gender at the hospital on their app. My x-ray report came in with my preferred name and gender. It was not appreciated by the centre. 😬

I'm not a nutritionist but I've gone on bulking diets in the past so I can suggest a couple things to try. Foremost, food-prep stuff that you like to eat. Any 'real food' that usually sounds good to you. That way, you don't have the time-sink or hassle of cooking for every meal. You're more likely to eat if stuff if it's convenient and mostly ready. For example, I'll spend an hour or so one evening prepping burrito ingredients that will last me the next 3 nights. Then it's just a matter of microwaving the beef/beans and throwing them into a tortilla; takes 5 min.   If you need food 'on the go' often, consider prepping smoothies in advance pre-separated out into individual containers. I personally like low-no fat yogurt blended with fruit and, here's the weird part, those water flavor drops. They add sweetness without dumping in excess sugar. Insulated containers will keep them reasonably fresh non-refridgerated all day so they can even be tossed into a backpack.    Hope of those sparked some ideas!

I did get a sorry from the mechanic, saying it was all on him. The boss just said I just went by what I was shown. I didn't look at the paper work. I thought maybe you should before jumping down someones throat.   I am still in the market. Just waiting to find the right one.   Hugs, Kymmie
