I’ve got a stupid grin on my face!

So, Yesterday I needed to take my guide dog to the groomers and then go to the clinic for NI.N.R. Since I am on anticoagulants and how thick or thin my blood is needs to be checked periodically.

Anyway, I was using the local Transsit bus to get around. After I had dropped my dog off at the groomers I caught a different bus to go to the clinic. As I handed my ticket to the bus driver a lady in the back of the bus said hello and I made my way back to my seat. I was having difficulty with the seatbelt and The bus driver offered to come back and help. At this point the lady who is sitting right across from me said you know I think she has got it to which the bus driver replied has he? I was still fighting the seatbelt and she asked me can I help you with that dear? So come in just a exchange where the lady kept referring to me using feminine pronouns and the bus driver kept trying to correct her with male pronouns! This went on for a few moments As I fiddled with the seatbelt and finally got it snapped in place. I was not dressed overtly feminine that day I was wearing a women’s Columbia sportcoat and my hair was tied back in a ponytail, and I was wearing a pair of hoop earrings and a diamond in my ears. I was also wearing a pair of women’s league Ryder jeans and a casual pair of Naturalizer wedge shoes with about a 2 inch heel.

I was listening to this exchange between the bus driver and my co-passenger and I was thinking to myself hush up and let the nice lady talk! LOL!

I think I just had my first male fail!

All I can say is:SQUEEEEEEE!!!

oh, that felt good!

how about you ladies would you share the first time that you were recognized as the woman you are?

(((((HUGS!)))))

Congratulations on your male-fail, @Willa!  It is so nice when that happens.

Thank you Kathy Lauren for your reply!

I need to make a correction the Columbia coat that I was wearing was not a sports coat it was a winter coat in fact a parka sans hood. Darn dictation!

I look forward to having that experience again!

I noticed that the forms have been awfully quiet, I wonder if it has anything to do with the virus outbreak.

Anyway I look forward to hearing of your experiences with mail fail ladies.

take care and stay well and safe!

We do tend to ebb and flow so nothing to worry about!  Also many people are preoccupied with family and getting news now.

As to male fail, nothing spectacular with me as I experienced it a lot throughout my life, particularly when younger.

Please excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by “male-fail”.  ???

it sounds like the bus driver was a jerk for saying those things even with the attempt to assist you and the other female passenger was saying things correctly.  Even defending you to a point.
I have not had one person yet treat me any other way then female once I started to live full time as my true self.  I know I e been lucky and the day is coming that some one will err.

Actually, I was working as a cashier at a hard goods store presenting male still back in the early 80’s. I normally worked stockroom but they were short of cashiers who were always mostly women. Some guy was buying a few things digging in his wallet and wasn’t paying close attention. He said to me, “Hello Ma’am!”  You’d think I’d be offended and give the guy the ‘evil eye’ but I was in heaven at that very moment.  It was clearly his oversight but it felt so good I simply smiled and said the usual, “Hello, D’you find everything you were looking for?” After answering...He smiled and sort of gave me a odd look like maybe he was wondering why I didn’t correct him. Lol..and there just wasn’t enough time to explain to him why.

Well, you asked...that’s my silly story for the day,

Susan R?

It's when you are not consciously presenting as female yet are treated as such in actions and words.  You've failed looking as a male.

Ahhh Ok it makes sense now.  Thank you.

I guess my first experience was when I was very rudely gendered correctly taking a parking spot.  I apparently I "stole" this guys parking spot and he yelled at me 'Dumb Punt!" (but with a "C").  Very rude.

I was dress for work in my guy golf apparel with a jacket on.  I had no makeup as I had not started using it yet but I did have my wig on.

I said nothing but used "sign language" to thank him. (middle finger).  LOL

My first experience was at a supermarket as I was checking out. I was called "ma'am" by the cashier even though I was wearing jeans and no makeup. I was wearing my wig though.

I am an evangelical  I am also transgender.  This is an issue. I have read up on it.  I am not an expert, but I have done a lot of reading.   One thing I do not get about people who take that position is that evangelicals are all about salvation by faith alone by Christ alone by grace alone - unless you are transgender.  Then you cannot be saved, these say, unless you do the work of un-transgendering yourself.  Which is, practically, impossible.  I have read the "solutions" and I don't buy them, obviously, because they do not work.    In evangelicalism salvation is by faith alone, Christ alone, grace alone, without any merit of our own.  That means, to an evangelical, we come to Christ as we are,  in the words of a glorious hymn,   1 Just as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that thou bidd'st me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   2 Just as I am, and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot, to thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   3 Just as I am, though tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt, fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   4 Just as I am, thou wilt receive, wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; because thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   We do not clean ourselves up BEFORE we come to Christ.  We let Him clean us up AFTER we come to Him.    Those who insist that transgender people cannot be saved are actually preaching another Gospel, a Gospel of works, and have wandered away from the glorious Gospel into works.  That is strong but true.   Struggling with legalism and grace, I have found more of God's mercy and grace available to me because I struggle with being transgender and seeking His resolution of it.  Which, not having the struggle, I would not have needed to seek Him earnestly on this.

Eventually, (especially if you start T,) things will even out. The excitement you feel is from everything being so new. Finally knowing yourself and having others recognise you can be thrilling. However, because it is your natural state of being, eventually that wears off. There's nothing exciting about it anymore because it's "just you." (Which is a perfect thing to be!) This, however, can lead to disappointment. Trust me when I say however, that that disappointment and jarring reaction to wrong pronouns will go away, and you'll once again feel comfortable in yourself.

I love long hair. I'm wanting my hair to touch the floor. I guess we shall see how long it can get.

I wear a wig most of the time.  But I can get by with my natural (shoulder length) hair if I wear a hat or something to cover the mostly empty top. Unfortunately that train has left the station, sigh.

Oddly enough, just this weekend I read some of my poetry at a local event.  In this case it was a Pride group so I didn't have a particular advantage.  But I have read in more inclusive (of cis people) situations, and been fairly well received.  Let's face it, cis people do deserve an equal chance.   I suppose this might be a problem in the future.

Of course we do.  The few friends I do have are almost exclusively cis or trans women. I think I could have a relationship with a man, but he would be kinda "other" to me.  Could be interesting though. I never have understood guys - even when I was trying to be one.
