Hey everyone. I recently found this website in a search, and I’m glad I did. I recently started to accept myself as genderqueer, though it’s still a rocky road. I came out to my mother, since I’m still a minor, and she wrote it off as a phase and told me to focus on more important things. My father has openly scoffed at any gender not female or male, and even sticks his nose up at binary trans people. A lot more pressure has been put on me about my gender right now due to quarantine (constantly hearing my dead name and wrong pronouns spoken), and the fact that I’m going to an all-girls school next year (I’m AFAB). Things have been a little rough mentally lately, so I’m hoping this website will help. Thanks for reading, I wish you all good luck on your journeys!

Welcome Quill I hope we can do as good as you are hoping, but this is one place we accept you as who you identify as.  This quarantine thing is beginning to work on my nerves too and I am an adult who lives alone.  I wish I knew of a pill to chill your folks around on this. Welcome Quill.  You’ll find many others on this forum who are in a similar place as yourself.  Having to find an ally when there appears to be no one in your corner is more than difficult.  Continue to stay strong.  You’ll always have a place here to feel accepted for who you are.  We try our best to listen and help others while at the same time trying to get through these difficult times ourselves. Yeah parents can be tough when you first come out as a minor.  My mother was tough when I was 52.  I apparently killed off her first born son.  (Sigh  -what drama.) 

The whole all girls school is a blessing in disguise in my opinion.  Assuming you are interested in girls as a boy!  LOLI mean come on what young man would not kill to be in an all girls school!  Zero competition!

(Of course I am joking as I do not know your preference and do not care to know as you are a minor.  That's your business and private.)  

 

As for pronouns and wrong name.  Get use to it hon because no matter how well you pass or do as your chosen gender you will ALWAYS have one or two people that just cant get it right or say things based on pure habit or don't use your correct pronouns and name on purpose.  Its hard I know but its a part of being transgender.

Hi Quill and welcome! Sorry about your situation, but try to be patient and understanding with your parents, maybe they'll come around someday. In the meantime, you got our support here.
