Real advice on breast developement

Traci Lynn

Recommended Posts

This topic is a major concern for most of us in transition, how can we help the process along. Breasts are an important part of feeling like a woman, I have read alot of articles that say transgender women can only expect modest results. Some articles say usually a cup size smaller than your closest female relatives ie your sister or mother. Anyone out there have any real advice?

My experience at >60 was, size was equal to one sister, a size bigger than the other sister.  This picture in my gallery "legally" shows off what happened to mine at the time of my GCS (the other person in the picture is Dr. Marci Bowers in her office in 2013.  The area down below the boobs was pretty swollen from the surgery but I am kind of hefty with a beer belly I just can't seem to drop, although this isolation thing has my appetite cut way down. ( Disregard the date stamp on the picture, the batteries had been replaced and the time was not reset. )

As I have said in other topics here, I wear about a 46 B or C and am happy with my growth.  The picture was taken in January 2013 and I had begun HRT in July 2009.  My bust enhancers which wore out about 4 years ago did take the creases out of the C' cups and were  nice while they lasted.  Mine started getting in the way of driving on our mountain roads near here at 18 months.  I hope this helps.

Im a C Cup after Five years of hormones. I dont think im going to be any bigger. Well hope not at least. Thats quite enough for me.

The theory didnt work  as my mother was a  very small statued woman and i would guess was no more than a B. I never had a sister for a guide.

I think unless you go for surgery thats the best you can hope for. I got lucky. But we are all unique. Therefore will be all diffrent.

But dont get me wrong im quite proud of what mine became.

Thanks ladies. Confirms my thoughts and reassures me that things may not be as bleak on that front as I had let myself believe. My sister is maybe a B, and my mom a DD pushing larger. Both are small framed. So getting to a B or C would be a blessing. Your all beautiful and thank you for sharing.

Maybe there is hope once I’m on hrt. My mom is larger than a ddd. I don’t know about my sister after she had her baby she lost her breastS so she had to get implants.

My mother was an A or a small B.  My paternal grandmother, too, judging from a photo.  I am a small A.  Or at least I was until I had to stop my E prior to surgery.  After 4 weeks off E, I lost half my size.  I am hoping I get it back soon!

Congrats on grs. And hope it went well, thanks for your responces. Guess we all will get what we get naturally and go from there.

I am67 and 14 months into H R T and presently just barely into an A cup.  And my sister I believe is MB cup has was my mother my aunt on my father side was I believe at least an D cup.

I read somewhere I forget where that the older you start HRT the less development you can expect. Has anyone else heard this, is there any validity to it?

I am also curious as to the ages that folks started their HRT and how their development was or is.

Stay well and stay safe ladies!

I am proof that this is baloney and I have a large group of older Trans friends that prove it over and over.l I am 72 now, started 11 years ago on HRT, and you can see where I was 7 years ago in the link I put in the second post above.

I am not mistaken for a male chest and have had the dubious pleasure of 4 mammograms over the years, including one scare on some suspicious intrusive tissue which thankfully turned out to be benign. Our breast tissue is a little more dense than it might be if we started earlier but no one really knows since a whole large group of Cis women are that way too, even from them at 12-13 years old.  There are no magic potions that will change that so don't be a victim of the sales line on that. You will do fine and you will be YOU.

In response to your query, I am 57 to be 58 in 2 days. I am only a little over six months in on HRT, and so far just an A cup size. But age is just a number and we all age differently.

Maid in Bedlam, I think your the exception and not the rule. We would all be quite satisfied with where you are, I for one definitely would be, heres hoping

Another point to consider ladies. Our developement is later in life, cis womens boobs by the time they reach this age have been defying gravity for decades by then. Ours are relatively new and havent suffered the ravages of decades of gravity pulling them down. So for our age we should be perkier for longer lol. No scientific studies have been conducted, but the law of age and gravity say my idea may have merit.

That's pretty much what my family doctor said.  She was so pleased for me, especially since I was her first transitioning patient and she wanted to learn from me.

Well it does make sense, and apparently your doctor feels the same. Thanks you for the comment!

Girls I so envy you all. Both my mom and sister are maybe a C cup. I am unable to go on HRT so to have breasts I will have to go under the knife. However I will be choosing at the largest a C. As I can't picture myself with anything bigger.

At 5'11 I think that would be a good size for me. While I do have some on top maybe an AA. When I wear a padded bra in a B or a C it looks about right on me.

Yea I’m a large A on one side and a medium B on the other.  My mother was/is a C.  My sister is a DDD.  My daughter is pushing D now at 18.
Im not hanging any expectations on any of them.  I’m going to be where it lands.  No plans for top surgery.
I’m more worried about loose skin from weight loss and no dang butt or hips yet.  Lol

By the time I can start HRT I will be 70 years old.

If I can have a well shaped A cup, I'll be happy. A well shaped B cup would be - well it would be a surprise.

I started HRT two and a half years ago and am now almost a c cup. My t finally dropped to 31 so I am looking forward to what's in store in the future! I know they are growing, boy do they let me know if they don't like where I lay on them. Btw, I was 69 years old when I started HRT.

Congratualations Brandi. Your well above the normal than I amat an a, but its only been 6 months so far, my t went from 825 at the start to under 17 in the first 2 months. I do have another side question though, how do you properly measure? I have googled it many times and the answers are always different, from taking a measure just below the breasts at about 2" below and another across the largest part of the breast. The difference supposedly being your cup size but that is not really very accurate. Another says take the lowwer measurement and add 4 inches then compare to the upper measurement and the difference is your cup size which is a negative number then and hopelessly small. My under bust measurement is 38, my bust measurement is 42.75 almost 43. A 40 band fits just right, a 38 is a bit snug. But going by the second method of measuring I would be a 42 band which is very loose. I suppose the only way to really find out is to get measured at someplace. Any ideas?

I don't know but I thought that adding 4 inch thing was bogus!  IMO, its best to consult with the bra manufacturer to determine what size to buy.  It seems as you note @Traci Lynn that everyone seems to have a different response.  I've seen some recommendation measuring around the chest above the breast tissue, and some that say bend over to let the girls drop to get a good bust measurement.  Sounded weird to me.  In my thought the under breast measurement should be your band size, at least it always has been for me.

I will take that as a compliment

Yes i am exceptional i think as not many i know of in any trans comunity have been as fortunate as me.

As far as not getting much development if you start later in life. I took my first hormones at 47 about 5 years ago. So that just reinforces the fact that it doesnt matter where your starting point is. If its going to happen it will and there isnt much you can consciously do about it regarding what goes in and what grows out. Its the Hormone controls and how far your body is ready to turn them. Mine just happened to be capable of being set to 11

Yes, I think that no matter how much I get it will always be just a little less than I yearn for. Such is the remants of male competitiveness, but in truth I think its just wanting to get the most out of my journey as I can. Thanks, will hopefully hit warp 10.

Oooooooooooooooops, I forgot yesterday.   I was thinking of a few bands who had a member invited who said no and went right into obscurity or left before the band got big.   1) Led Zeppelin -  origially wanted Terry Reid to be lead vocalist and he decided the stay solo. 2) Crosby, Stills & Nash - invited John Sebastian to join before Neil Young, Sebastian said no. 3) Signe Anderson quit as lead vocalist with Jefferson Airplane and they replaced her with Grace Slick.

Good morning, everyone! We're back from a short vacation with friends to the mountains of NC. It was a fun time driving the twisty mountain roads.   Now it's back to reality of cutting grass, washing windows and putting in screens and putting out the porch furniture. Coming home to warmer weather than when we left is glorious.   Happy Anniversary @Willow!    I hope your family is feeling better @KymmieL - my wife and I shared a stomach virus several weeks ago that was horrid.   Hang in there @Birdie, it will all work out!!   Have a wonderful day, everyone!

I think many Christians end up with a false dichotomy.  If we didn't choose to be how we are, then something in our environment did it. Is going along with it a sin?  Maybe.  But if so, its one of those times where we mess something up no matter what we do.  Part of the imperfect nature of this fallen world is that there are times where we'll sin no matter what we do.  In a no-win scenario like that, we do the wisest thing possible with our free will.

This is the crux of my anguish these many, many months (years!) and where I go back-and-forth with my own journey ... I was born a biological male. No denying that in my case. But I have a lot of internal feminine leanings and external ones, too. I prefer to wear women's clothes 100 percent of the time (if I could). I wish I had the female plumbing. I long for that badly sometimes. I don't know why or where that came from but no denying that either. I have started HRT because I like the idea of having a more feminine physical body and some of the "perks" that go with that. I just asked my doc to up my dose to the next level today!   So the big question I ask myself is: am I knowingly disobeying God, who likes order and made humans male and female, by taking these steps? This is my wife's take on things. "You are sinning. You know God made you a male biologically. Yet you are willfully pursuing transition to being something God didn't intend you to be regardless of what you feel inside, what your preferences are, etc."  I keep trying to tell her it's much more complex than that but sometimes I don't even know what I think...   This ties up in knots and makes me angry and makes me feel stuck!!! I don't want to disobey my Creator and Savior and yet I have this strong, strong leaning toward the feminine in many ways (that keeps getting stronger and refuses to go away no matter how much I have tried to stuff it away!!) ... It feels like misery no matter which path I take - if I "give in" to the feminine, which I have been doing a lot the past 12 months or so, am I endangering my soul? Am I creating scandal? Yet the thought of putting the feminine aside feels, at times, like death too (or is it just me being self-centered and unwilling to bend the knee to my Creator who would ask me to give this up as a testament to my love for him...   I don't know. I don't know. I don't know!! But sometimes I really really F***ing hate this quandary...

We use a ton of Harbor Freight stuff here.  They have pretty good warranty, too, I guess.  GF beats all heck out of sockets and things, and if she takes them back they get replaced for free.  Harbor Freight was junk 20 years ago, but its really good now.  Craftsman used to be good 20 years ago, but now its junk (but they still want to charge made-in-the-usa prices).  Dewalt is now Chinese also, when it used to be made in Germany.  Older Dewalt tools are good, but GF got a really bad hand injury a few years ago from a Chinese Dewalt drill bit that shattered.  Some of the name brands just aren't what they used to be.

Honestly, all the numbers are monkey math.  Doesn't matter who's in charge.  Trump kept crowing about the damn stock market, which didn't make a difference to normal people.  All the "job creation" is an illusion.  They consider it job creation when they take good full time jobs, and split them in half to "make" two part-time or temp jobs.  Not totally a Biden problem, as this has been going on for decades now.  Things *began* to get better under Trump.  A bit.  Maybe 8 years would have been better, but it wouldn't have fixed it.  Too much damage.    To me, Trump is a case of "too little, too late."  In my opinion, we need more - a true nationalist, with an aggressive and isolationist foreign policy.  And we needed him 50 years ago.  I want to see:   High import tariffs, a currency backed by precious metals, no more "climate" stuff and repudiation of all "accords" or other agreements, elimination of excess government agencies like the FBI and EPA, and total seizure of foreign-owned assets on US soil - with sale and disbursement of profits to our citizens.  And that would be a basic start.  Instead of "sanctions" to interrupt the trade of nations we don't like, Congress should instead issue letters-of-marque as described in the Constitution.  I'd like to see an alliance with Russia, and an end to nearly a century of useless conflict.    Trump won't do any of those things.  He's a sad, pale imitation of the leaders that founded our nation.

Well I got some terrible news today. My therapist is a doctoral intern at the VA. Her internship is ending the end of July. Normally interns just continue with the VA after their degree is done. However, VA has a hiring freeze on. So, I am going to loose one of the best therapists I have ever had. One that actually cares about me. I do have a few months till she leaves, Thankfully.   Other than that. my wife and youngest are both sick. Don't know if they got it worse that I had on Thurs/Friday. Or I am destine to get it too.   I've got tools that range from cheapy flea market stuff all the way up to high grade, Mac and Snap-on. Most have lasted me for quite a long time. I am diligently trying to keep my happy arse out or the Snap-on truck when he comes every Thurs. So far, I have resisted. But the temptation is there.   Kymmie
