Anyone heard of pridecounseling.com?

So I have been seeing my therapist for almost 8 months, and while she has been helpful in a number of ways she is admittedly not an expert in transgender issues.  So I have been pondering finding another therapist who has more specialized expertise to better suit my needs.  Given the current state of things with the pandemic crisis, I thought it best to look into online options.

 

I came across a site called pridecounseling.com, and I was just curious if anyone here has had any dealings or experience with them?  The appear to be legit, but I just want to be cautious before I decide to switch up therapists and start paying them for sessions.

hey Tori I never heard of then ,but I would call yr local LGBT center and see if they have heard or know about then..Be safe

The counselor they matched me up with seems to check out, licensed and even has an office not more than a mile from where I live.  Maybe I got lucky.  I think I'll at least send a message to her and explain my current situation, see what her response is before I proceed.

I took a look at the site, I vaguely remember hearing about them long ago.l  I went in and checked their FAQ page and they sounded OK and up and up.  No wild promises.  If the referred therapist and you click, it was good.

I’ve been using the site for at least a year already and they are quite good. They also have other communication options such as video, text, or phone calls I believe, as well as payment plans and the ability to apply for financial aid (a certain percent off the cost). I don’t know if any of them are “therapists”, but I believe they’re all LMHCs or similar (if there’s a difference).
