Hi im Hoping with opening this discussion i can find some sort of answers for myself..im beginning to accept myself for who i am and thats a male or masculine presenting. Im worried for the repurcussions transitioning could have on my vocal career as well as my hair... theres a lot to unpack and i would hate to sound superficial. I just want to seek help to my hundreds of questions because taking this leap is something im willing to do. Im nervous if it isnt obvious. Thank you for your time

Hey Izzy welcome to TP.

I really don't understand you questions but I believe everyone here has the same questions. Meaning ,What going to happening to me? I started on HRT almost to years ago. I have male patterning baldness so I have to wears wigs like the one in my pp. If your worried about losing your hair the opposite will happen. your hair will grow smoother and ticker . Also for your voice. Unless your a low baritone opera singer then I say do what I am doing ( what we all are trying to do if yr m2f) try to fem your voice throught theraphy or Youtub videos.

Don't be afraid to post ask questios read others post that's how I learn. Be safe, BE Proud, and KICK ASS

Welcome @IzzyH.  Please take the time to think about the things that are more important to you.  It seems your vocal career is one of them, great!  When you mention hair, I assume you have a nice full head of it.  If transitioning is important the negative things that come along with it won't outweigh the positives.  When and if you ever start taking testosterone it will affect your voice, not necessarily the quality of it but the tone.  In regard to hair, if men in you family have male pattern baldness, then yes you could expect to eventually see that as well.  When is the question as it "all depends."  Thats the answer with a lot of transition related questions.  Don't be afraid to start a new post to ask a question or several.

Cheers, Jani

Hi Izzy and welcome to the forum! This place is full of supportive and friendly people, check it out and ask whatever you need, we're glad to have you here with us ?

I would recommend seeking out a therapist who specializes in gender identity. They specialize in helping guide those who are questioning. Also, do you normally present fem? Bc if so but you want a minimal risk experience, try some men's clothes and see how you feel. I'm mtf myself, but there's many ftm and nb you can talk to here too. Check out the forum and ask around as you feel!
