so i hadn't cut my hair in almost three months, and i couldn't see with all the hair covering my eyes, so i got fed up with it and shaved my head. not sure if it was the best decision i have ever made, because now i feel like i look more like a lesbian than a guy, as my hair is the only thing that allows me to pass at all. i don't have to go outside, but school is online through zoom classes and everyone can see that i f-d up my hair. they all call me Luke and he/him anyway, but the haircut makes me really dysphoric as i look like a female now and the fact that my face is a whole e g. G doesn't help my case. i know it'll grow out my my birthday but i hate that i have to wait to look like a guy again.

My hair has grown pretty long and my stepmom refuses to cut it (Even though she is a barber) >:(( I did think about shaving my head but that did come to mind. But currently my hair makes me look like a depressed kpop idol, the 50% asian side of me is surfacing.

I totally get this, last December I kind of had a meltdown and buzzed my hair down to an inch and instantly regretted it. The shape of my hair is what made me look male as far as I was concerned, and now every time I passed any mirrors I felt a thousand times worse. On top of that, the hair on the sides of my head was already long, so it was just a terrible haircut in general. I didn't know what to do, I honestly was feeling pretty suicidal knowing that it would be months until it was ok again, but then I asked myself: Dillon, you have a million reasons to go. Please don't let a haircut be the one you go out on. So I hung in there, tried to do more with my style to make it obvious (buying men's work jeans really helps, and they last for a super long time) and worked on things like my voice and demeanor. Now my hair is ok again, and I feel more established in being a guy. If you put all of you passing into just one part about you, and that is taken away, then you have nothing else. Take this time to look at other things, maybe look into minoxidil (hair growth serum that you can use to get facial hair, my mom just agreed to let me buy it and I am so excited). You never know what you could learn...

Dillon, I'm so glad your mom came through and I'm so excited for you! Compared to the pictures I sent last week I'm already seeing such a difference.

Luke, if you're worried about how you'll look on camera you could wear a hat to hide your hair. I don't look too great in baseball caps but beanies go a long way for folks like us.
