Hello, I'm Jester, he/him, 22. I have recently recovered from The Sickness and have come out the other side with a fresh determination to make the rest of my life a happy one.

I'm very isolated IRL, socially speaking, and kind of lack the confidence to make any friends. I feel completely anonymous, online and off - honestly not seeing anyone during quarantine has not changed my daily life at all. I don't want to presume that I'll make friends here, but would love to just talk a little bit and hear different perspectives!

I would love to hear from some other transmasculine folks with larger chests. It's a bit demoralising to hear people talk about binding like it's easy - for me it's always been painful, unsatisfying, and obscenely expensive, and the whole thing usually just makes me feel worse. I'm pre-HRT, mostly because I can't stand the thought of looking even a little more masculine while still having F-cup breasts (Aussie sizes, not sure it'll mean anything to anyone here).

Thank you for listening/reading, and I hope you have a good day!

(PS - Is it a breach of etiquette here to forego capital letters and punctuation? I'm much more comfortable with a 2013 tumblr lowercase typing style, but don't want to break the rules!)

Hello Jester and welcome.

I suppose the lack of upper case letters can be adapted to by many but please maintain use of punctuation!   Its hard to determine where sentences begin and end.  There are no Grammar Police yet we may edit for clarity at times.

I'm glad you've recovered.  I think you'll find this to be a good place to converse with others about things that are on your mind.   Please join in and ask any questions you might have.

Cheers, Jani

Hi Jester, pleased to meet you! I am happy to tell you that you'vecome to the right place to make friends, there are quite a few men active on this site so they will no doubt be able to talk to you regarding binding et al. I would say type however you are comfortable as long as folks can understand as some use english as a second or third language.

@jester It’s a pleasure to meet you. Welcome! Thank you for sharing a little about yourself here. Maybe you could share with us a bit of your back story, how you came to the “ah ha!” moment about yourself or how things in your life are changing. Absolutely no pressure but everyone has a unique and interesting story.  It helps us all get to know each other a little better.

Warmest Regards,

Susan R?

Hey Jester, you have come to the right place and I am the right guy ya looking for.

I have a larger chest and know what it's like to not be able to bind like it's a walk in the park. I am not sure of what it's converts too in Australian size but I am a DD cup in US sizes. Only once in a blue moon am I happy with how my binder works, even then it's only when I wear layers as well.

Anywho, welcome to the forum :))

Salutations Jester and welcome to the site!

As a total aside, Australian and US cup sizes match up (I checked). Band sizes however are labeled in a wildly different fashion. The more you know.

Hugs!

thank you all!

wow Jackie that explains so much about American clothing sizes honestly? in Aus the band size is usually the same as the size of shirt you'd wear, so I had kind of assumed that American sizes ran from, like, size 2 to size 36 or something... the more you know indeed!

Nah, American bra bands are sized by the literal number of inches wrapped around your body directly under the breasts. I'm a 48A for example. Very few bra manufacturers make a 48A. They assume that if your chest is that big, you must be gigantic.

Hugs!

oh that makes so much more sense! i've had the same problem in the other direction, especially when i was younger and thinner - it's such a bummer!

Yes, Jackie!  Isn't so difficult to find those type bra sizes?  I finally was able to find a 42A push up.  Fits nice.  Hmmm .. maybe that could be a good business .. unusual bra sizes ?

Good to hear about that case, but I believe Oklahoma is in the 11th Circuit COA region along with Texas which is going to find some way to nullify this decision as far as the Oklahoma law goes, just because - - - -
    • awkward-yet-sweet
That's a Circuit (Circus) court ruling.  Which is essentially temporary.  Most everything right now is temporary, as the Supreme Court hasn't gotten around to dealing with all the various trans-related issues from the last few years.  I really, really wish they would just bite the bullet and do their thing.  It would save us from the constant tug-of-war. "The sky is falling!".... "No it isn't.".... "But there's crap coming down."....."It landed east of here"  Whether it ends up being good or bad, I wish they'd just lance the boil and let us either have a tyranny we can fight against or a republic we don't mind living in.  Mediocrity is irritating.

I'm sure there are some...there's just about every kind of person imaginable in our society.  And I suspect that a number of actual GOP politicians aren't really haters...it just happens to be convenient to go along.  Like most Germans in the early 20th century weren't actually anti-Semitic.  It was just that it didn't matter to them.    While I'm not friends with any politicians (well, other than local ones), the majority of folks around me aren't anti-trans.  And one of my two trans friends is a Trump supporter, with hat and all.  My other friend is a Democrat, and the three of us actually get along even when we talk politics.  Life is interesting.

This suggests some of the problematic policies would be unenforceable if implementation were attempted.    https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/4th-circuit-gender-identity-is-a?publication_id=994764&post_id=144139815&isFreemail=true&r=rebf4&triedRedirect=true

You can believe what you want.  But there are such.  That should not scare you.  I wonder why it does.
    • Davie
I don't believe it. I've never heard of such a thing. That would scare me.
    • Davie
Yay for this . . . it overrides state laws. 4th Circuit Court says: Gender Identity Is A Protected Characteristic, Blocks State Coverage Bans. In a landmark ruling, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that gender identity is a protected characteristic, and that Medicaid bans on treatments for gender dysphoria are unconstitutional. https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/4th-circuit-gender-identity-is-a?publication_id=994764&post_id=144139815&isFreemail=true&r=rebf4&triedRedirect=true

I would challenge him next time about where is being transgender a fatal sin. The only thing he has about giving into fleshy desires. Another thing you can hit at does the Bible cover intersex people? Bible to me stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. You could also challenge him as to how many times has the Bible been edited.  You could challenge him on what music, movies, podcasts and tv shows and how they give glory to God. I challenged my mom, and she had nothing to say other than I know I'm right being defensive.

God is not the author of evil.  The world is fallen - one of the few things everyone agrees on is that not everything is right with this world.  There is agency that can act contrary to His will.  And there is the promise that He will work all things for good for those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.  Rom 8:28.    Beyond that, I don't know.  Sometimes I say He made me transgender and sometimes I say it is the result of the fall. In either case the truth is governed by my previous paragraph.

That is what I am hoping!

Its only temporary...just til I get the current project done.  Actually, even back when I was working, I always worked from home.  Usually curled up in a corner with my headphones on.  In those days, it was just me and my GF and my sister.  I'd wake up when GF went to work, and my sister didn't have a job so we just stayed home.  She was still trying to be a writer.  But now it seems like everybody is up early, either for work or with all the kids.  Not much chance to stay in my nest through the morning now.     Congrats on your anniversary, BTW.   The Acadia might be decent for you.  I actually saw one of those after an accident.  Totally smashed, but the people inside hardly had a scratch.  I guess they're pretty safe.  IDK about a 4 cylinder engine for an SUV, though.  Around here, even that 4.0 6-cylinder would be considered "small."  I have the only 4 and 6 cylinder passenger cars in my family, actually.  My ancient Chevy Lumina has a 6 cylinder, and my Mazda Miata has a 4 cylinder.  They are appropriately "fox-sized."  All the rest are some flavor of V8, either the Ford modular engine or some variation of Hemi.      Would getting a new ID change how the day center handles you?  I would think it would be tough for them to justify treating you different from what your ID says...

This morning I went to see my vascular surgeon at the Hospital network and the staff and doctor all referred to me as ma'am. It seems the new settings on MyChart are already current and staff are following my preferred pronouns and name (my appointment papers all have my obviously male name on them).   It's quite refreshing until returning to the day-centre where they again go out-of-their-way to call me "Sir". 🙄

I guess this is the only plausible reason?  I can't imagine any other, really.  I think it is the intent of the Russian government to remove all LGBTQ+ people from their society.  I guess that will mean most of their female population, since I've noticed that Russian girls tend to be sexually "flexible" (at least)
