Dresses and Skirts

Hello,

First, I’d like to apologize for bringing the following topic in this category (the Fashion category is unavailable).

Second, I’m extremely girly when it comes to clothing, and I love shopping.

I just wish to know about good places to buy dresses and skirts of all styles and for any event. My dream has always been to wear a dress in public ^~^

I’m again grateful for any help provided.

P.S: might move to Canada if it helps a bit (Lebanon is not the land of opportunities).

I wish I could help you but I don’t know anything about Lebanon. I have found cute dresses at The Loft and Maurices. They have an online store but I don’t know if they ship to you.

If you do, I can definitely recommend some national chains and depending on where you land, I may be able to recommend some local shops too.

I am not familiar with shops in the Middle East. Maybe international online retailers would be your best bet.

Tara,

Like you, I am a "girly" girl, so I love extremely feminine clothing.  My go to shops have always been Macy's and JC Penny, because you can always find pretty clothing at reasonable prices.  Before the lock-down I mostly shopped in the stores, but even then did a lot of online shopping.  Both stores have easy return policies for online purchases, so if you get something that doesn't fit right or doesn't look good, you can easily return it.

I have a lot of awesome dresses and skirts in my wardrobe, and many of them were Penny's or Macy's purchases.

I'm not "out" yet, so public buying is not really an option.  I have become pretty good at online shopping, mostly Amazon.

Took a lot of trial and error but I was able to discover my sizes fairly quickly:

-- dress sizes (usually 1 X step up from your normal male size, e.g., Large in male = female XL or sometimes 2XL, which is a dress size 16-18).

-- Shoes, add 2 sizes to your mens size, e.g. size 9 will be a size 11 in womens,

-- Bras were difficult (measuring will help) - but may approximate your coat size (40 or 42? coat = bra 40/42 bra) -

These are all US sizes so not sure if it helps you.
But, read the conversion charts they provide, and also look at the reviews, for womens height/weight that come close to yours and see what size they bought.  Plus you can always send them back too.

Enjoy shopping!  I love it when something new arrives❣️

If you have access to amazon prime I would join. I joined long time ago because I used to by a lot of money on camera gear and needed guarantee of early delivery. Since then the subscription has expanded to include music and films/tv at no extra subscription all of which I use.

But now that my budget is being spent on girly fashion, I buy nearly everything on Amazon provided it is sold via Amazon Prime. This is because in addition to the earlier free delivery, returns are free (beware of the really cheap marketplace goods that have high delivery costs as you then have to pay similar for returns). In addition (don't know if this is country specific) but Amazon Wardrobe - try before you buy - means you don't pay immediately and only pay for those items you don't return. This is probably closest you can get to an in-store experience through an online retailer. Amazon Wardrobe is only available to Prime users.  The Prime subscription probably equates to around 3 or 4 cheaper dresses/shoes but well worth it in my opinion.
