My name is Marilynn Andrea Michelle and I did start transitioning in summer 2016. I started with HRT in Nov. 2016, dressed female in public my first time on the 1st of April 2017 (no joke) and kept dressing from the 1st of August 2017. Legally changed my name, my drivers license and the name on my credit cards at the same time. Started speech therapy before I did start with HRT but had a long pause because the blocker (Adrocur, Cyproteroneacetat=CPA) lead me into a depression. Voice won't get better when you are in a sad mood. I did stop taking any blocker after finding out that this isn't really needed if you have enough estradiol=E2. Important is that you get bioidentical micronized stuff to prevent side effects like blood cloths but that is mostly happening from the progestins that are in the blocker. After about 9 months after starting with HRT my endocrinologist didn't want me to give progesterone. I was asking for the bioidentical micronized cream and she told me that this was already containing in Androcur. After finding out that progesterone and progestines are no the same I quit taking blocker at all and did change to another endocrinologist that did prescribe the stuff I was asking for. WPATH requests are outdated in my opinion there are better ways to do HRT. My son is a medical doctor and he gave me his books about hormones to study. (No, he's not prescribing me anything)

Beard removal was another long story. I got 5 sessions of laser treatment but after that I had no black beard hair left. All the remaining hair were unpigmented (white) and a laser isn't working for this. So I was looking for electrolysis and was asking health insurance to cover up because I had no job at that time and couldn't pay out of the pocket. At the end they did cover up but it was a 2 year long war with the help of a lawyer and a medical expert. I was lucky because I had an insurance that covers to pay for a lawyer.

Now I am already retired and are in my second week to get accustomed to the new situation. I did start speaking in a female voice since Mai 2020 and still making a daily progress. SRS is on it's way (it got cancelled for march 16th because of COVID-19) and I hope I can take my second date in August 26th. We'll see if I can make it then to go to Thailand.

Hello Marilynn, Welcome to our forum. It’s a pleasure to meet you. First off, I want to say I’m sorry I had to remove the photo you had posted with your introduction but photos posted on this forum must depict only the person posting them.

You are certainly on your way to becoming yourself and your path is very well established. The information in your post was very informing especially the part about progestines. I knew there was a difference between progesterone and progestines but didn’t know that blockers contained the ingredient known to be of increased cause for clots. I will be bringing this up with my endo on Friday.  I’m almost completely weaned off blockers now as the E has completely taken over the job of maintaining my T levels down where they need to be.

Its good to hear that you’ll be getting back on track as far as your transition plans. This covid mess put a damper on the plans for a lot of us. Best of luck to you and your upcoming SRS in Thailand.

I hope to read more about your life’s journey and how you finally came to where you are today. Your life sounds very intriguing and I’m sure others here would enjoy reading about it too.

Warmest Regards,

Susan R?
