I cannot tell you how much all of you have helped me and shared. I look forward each morning now to do feminine voice exercises and reading comments and topics here. This morning I read from a lady a little older who has such a similar journey and just helps me to realize. . I am not alone...and it feels so good...especually having struggled.. .wait for it...68 years...sigh....thank you all

Yes, the comaraderie is kind of addictive, isn't it?  Probably the one single thing that helped me more than any other is when I discovered I wasn't alone.  Everybody here seems ageless to me, too, something I seldom feel IRL.  It's nice.

Hugs,

Tori

Thank you both - I am soooooooooooooooooooo happy to be here. You have meant so much to me. Can't tell you how much I've been able to do in less than a month than I did in 68 years - but all those things were building blocks to get here. If you haven't already - I posted a song that decided it needed to be written and shared called "You Are Not Alone". Hopefully you know how to navigate a bunch better than I but if you can't find it, I can post it again.

Mental Hugs,

Shay

Thats quite a statement @Suzanne1.

I don't think many here would admit to being, or appreciate being called geriatric.  You?

noun:   an old person, especially one receiving special care.  ex: "a rest home for geriatrics"

mmm

As I am 60 in about 6 and a half months does that make me geriatric?

There is not much work over here like everywhere else I imagine.

I took a job that was a little out of the way with no public transport and to get to work I had to ride my bike to my local train station catch a train to another then ride 45 minutes to work be on my feet for 8 to 10 hours  then do the same in reverse.

I guess that means I am positively geriatric.:-(

I took it as cute, lol.  I think we all know we're not geriatric, but I do have those days.........  I'm certainly not 25 anymore.

Saying geriatric was funny and I got a good laugh from it. I don't see why anyone would or should take offense to a gently made joke... *says the 49 year old* I prefer to have members that are nearer my age just fine and I purposely avoid the groups that are mostly younger because I just can't relate to them. High school was 31 years ago for me so yea I guess I'm "geriatric" hahahahaha *snort* It's a good forum, that's the point. And welcome to the fun Shay!

I keep physically and mentally active and at 71 am a long way from being over the hill.  But I can say I notice a difference decade to decade.  But now that I've been out for 2 years and on HRT 6 months, I'm too darn excited about the next milestone(s) to feel, well, geriatric ?

As far as I am concerned you are as old as you feel unfortunately some times I feel like I'm  110. but mostly younger than my 55 yrs.

Most mornings I check TP first thing. Well after getting Patrick (our long hair miniature Dachshund)   his breakfast. It is a morning ritual anymore.

That is so cool - give Patrick a nice hug for me and tell him some girl he doesn't know has a crush on him.   :)

Me, too, Kymmie.  Thankfully the <= days still outnumber the > days.

I've gotten into a ritual, too.  This is my wakeup time, while I'm getting the sleepy cobwebs cleared out.  Can usually find a laugh and an inspiration here to get my day going right.

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!

Things hit the fan today. I was reminded that "this is not a gender fluid establishment."   I had changed my preferred name and gender at the hospital on their app. My x-ray report came in with my preferred name and gender. It was not appreciated by the centre. 😬

I'm not a nutritionist but I've gone on bulking diets in the past so I can suggest a couple things to try. Foremost, food-prep stuff that you like to eat. Any 'real food' that usually sounds good to you. That way, you don't have the time-sink or hassle of cooking for every meal. You're more likely to eat if stuff if it's convenient and mostly ready. For example, I'll spend an hour or so one evening prepping burrito ingredients that will last me the next 3 nights. Then it's just a matter of microwaving the beef/beans and throwing them into a tortilla; takes 5 min.   If you need food 'on the go' often, consider prepping smoothies in advance pre-separated out into individual containers. I personally like low-no fat yogurt blended with fruit and, here's the weird part, those water flavor drops. They add sweetness without dumping in excess sugar. Insulated containers will keep them reasonably fresh non-refridgerated all day so they can even be tossed into a backpack.    Hope of those sparked some ideas!
