Hi everyone

With this covid 19 I have not worked much this year, a few weeks here a few weeks there.  It has given me a lot of time to think and work out what I really want.  I changed all my documentation and lifestyle to female 29 years ago and when I started thinking about what I wanted I realised that my life had just been stalled for decades.  Sure I was living as I had always wanted to but I never finished. Not having the money is only part of the issue.  I love spending it too much and every time I started saving I had something come up.  6 or 8 weeks ago I decided that I needed to finish the journey that I had started so long ago. I found a way that I can use my super to have my operation next year.

This is why I started to talk to a therapist at the gender centre and he told me about a psychiatrist that sees most of the trans people in Sydney.  That appointment is coming up this Friday the 3rd of July.

I also started thinking about other things in my life as well.  I have found it more difficult to buy clothes lately I will buy a new outfit and find either the top of the bottom was too young too old. I never seemed happy anymore with my choices.  

When I was sixteen I lost the sight in one eye, it made me self conscious about my make up while I played around with it especially in the beginning I was worried about not getting it right because of vision only on one side.  So unless I was going to a wedding or a special occasion in which case I would have my face made up professionally.  Mostly I just used lipstick and nail polish.

About the same time as I started thinking about my journey I also started thinking about my appearance and what I could do about it.  I searched the internet and found a business called My Image Consultant.  This is a place that works on makeovers hair makeup style.  So when I rang up we discussed what I wanted and where I wanted to go.  Now a lot of clients have a lot of money and I am just unemployed. Not going to stay that way for long. So I have booked an appointment with her on Friday the 3rd of July as well.  Made a 2 hour consultation with her and will be meeting her in the city for the first consultation.  We will only be discussing make up at this time.  We will be shopping for what suits me and because I only have $200 dollars to spend we will be looking on the cheaper side.  Then we will be going over application and how to do so with my disability.  We will be having some Skype lessons after that day.

I have not even used lipstick lately because I  felt it made my lips look too thin. ?

That's a great idea, Carrie!  I think most of us could benefit from this type of service.

For me makeup and fashion is not a strong area, because ... well .. I didn't grow up as a woman.  So why not get expert help to develop our own innate sensibilities in these areas?

Hi Kay 

My consult with Annalisa went very well on Friday. I need to get some more makeup that she suggested later today.  She surprised me on Saturday when I saw a message on my computer saying I had a Skype call coming in.  It was Annalisa we talked for a while and made an online appointment on skype where we will go to application.  I have not used makeup much because I felt with only one eye it would  look uneven and not nice. 

Annalisa made some suggestions about getting around that.  So am looking forward to Thursday now. ?

That's great, Carrie!
My near vision is not great, and if I wear glasses they get in way when I am trying to do eye makeup.  And if I don't wear glasses, the results look like I've been in a bar fight ?
