What questions should I ask my hrt team at first consult?

I have my first consult about starting HRT with Equitas Health, that specializes in LGBTQ health care and they will help me with endo, therapist, etc.

I know about asking about different ways to taje estrogen, blockers, progesterone but what else should I ask.

I am excited and know I will probably go blank on a lot of stuff if I don't write it down.

Thank You,

Shay

Honestly you may or may not need progesterone. Some endos use it, others don't. The thing to remember is that your endo will come up with their plan for a reason. Ask them about their reasoning for what they're giving you. Also keep in mind that your first dose probably won't be right. Endos will start you on a low dose of what they think you need and slowly ramp it up over the next couple of months until your bloodwork comes back with numbers they like. They're cautious creatures and easily startled.

If you want to just break the ice, you could start with, "And this will get me D-Cups?"

It'll be fine. My endo explained everything, we paused for questions. I filled out a survey (UofM is a teaching hospital). Generally a good time.

I didn't want to seem greedy. Honestly I'd (carefully) do cartwheels if I could manage a B.

It's more a matter of tissue being spread over a larger area because of our stupid broader chests. Take it with a grain of salt though. Not all women take after their mother's. Genetics are a tricky beastie. Besides, you'll need to be on HRT three years before you should consider implants (lest they need to be removed because your breasts grew anyway). You've got some time yet.

I’m likely having a BA done sometime in the next year if not sooner but I’m concerned that I may still be in growth mode. I’d prefer a C cup so I my PCP and therapist have it specified in my letter of recommendation. Right now, I’m Tanner 4 with a B cup and who knows if the insurance will even approve it.  My breasts haven’t been as sore this week so it’s too early to know if it’s a trend and they’ve stopped growing. Many of us MtF’s would prefer natural breasts if possible. Is it worth getting them for 1 cup size larger? I honestly don’t know.

for 1 Cup it wouldnt be worth it to me but i dont imagine i will get much up there anyway and i would probably like a C Cup, but you know what ? You should do what you feel is right for you.
