Psychiatrist SRS/GRS

Carrie

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

Yesterday I saw my psychiatrist for the first time. When I asked when he would like to see me again he said he did not need to see me again.  He gave me a letter of support for SRS surgery. For a Dr Chettawut  in Bangkok, Thailand.

I think one of the reasons that this happened on my first visit to him is because I have lived as Carrie for the last 29 years.

Has anyone used this doctor in Thailand before. Would love to here back from you.

Many thanks

Carrie ??

Congrats on the referral. Well that's a nice change from the usual gatekeeping. No feedback on the doc in Thailand.

Thanks Sara

It surprised me as well.  I thought I would have to see him a few times at least.

Chettawut is a plastic surgeon that started 1995 only, that tells you that he is young and is not having a good experience.

In general, in Bangkok, all surgeries are truly not expensive but there is a price to pay if everything goes correctly. In this case dear Carrie, you do not want to gamble, stay way from him.

I would not let someone that has no experience, not even pulling my tooth.

I am certain that in Sydney, you have some experienced doctors in the field.

Visit this website, it is near you somewhere in Sydney Gender Reassignment Surgery

Hi Dinaki

In Sydney it would cost $52,000 and that is without the hospital fees. Health insurance does not cover surgery in Australia.  I would not see any surgeon until I have spoken to someone who has already been to him.  I need to know his work is good before I make any commitments.

I have already spoken to the Gender Centre about meeting ladies who have been to Thailand and hearing from their experiences and how happy they were with what was done. ?

I have waited this long a little longer hurts no one.

I do not expect anything until the middle or end of next year.

Thank you

Carrie

As long as you talked with ladies that have been under Chettaut's knife, what can I say. You know better than me.

Remember you will have to add to the expenses, airplane tickets (round trip), hotel accomodation there.

I hope NOT, but what if something wrong happens to you while you recuperate back in Sydney? Tailand is way too far from Sydney dear.

Do very well your homework Carrie!

I have already spoken to someone who  had been over there. She was quite happy.

The visit over there is about four weeks.  There are rooms attached to the hospital that I looked at before and that was part of the cost.  Still a lot of research to be done before I take any sort of action of any kind.  I am not rushing in just because I have permission to do something does not me I need to act now. There is time and I will do my homework first. ?

Hi everyone

Dr Ives is the surgeon that I contacted in Australia about 18 months ago.  He practices in the state next to NSW.  He is in Melbourne Victoria. And this is his link.

https://transsurgeryaustralia.com.au/index.php

The surgery in Thailand with Dr Dr Chettawut  costs about 18 hundred dollars more than in Melbourne Australia. Both the surgeons appear to be very good at what they do.  In both places I would need to find costs for accommodation.

With no insurance Thailand seems cheaper because that includes all fees from the operation while in Melbourne I would need to all or most of the hospital costs.

I will probably spend most of the rest of this year doing research to find out as much as possible. Then I will decide which is better for me.

I would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions any one can give me.  Especially from those who have already been through this procedure.

Many Many thanks

Carrie

Carrie, as you do your research remember that cost alone should not the primary determinant of who you select to do this procedure.  While the financial aspect is very important, for a few hundred or even thousand dollars over a life time is insignificant. Find a doctor you are totally comfortable with, that you are assured of giving the best results, and aftercare (as needed).  There are many surgeons that have excellent results but remember that our bodies are all unique and no one can guaranteed what the results will be with 100% certainty.  Remember too that when you read reviews online that a dissatisfied customer is 10 times more prevalent to write a review than a satisfied patient.   So take your time, review all possible resources and include doctors that may not advertise much. There are hidden gems everywhere.  In the end you'll be comfortable with your decision. All my best to you!

Cheers,
Jani

Thanks Jani

The psychiatrist that I spoke to said that he knew many of t he doctors in Thailand and he gave me that name but until I actually speak to women who have been to that surgeon I will not be able to come to a proper conclusion. As you say anything can be written online so it is the people that have experience with those doctors that I need to get a better idea from.

Again Many thanks

Carrie

I have found some people correlate TG = child predator ... just as some have correlated homosexual = child predator...    I am baffled by the TG = unsafe connection ... my wife tends to think this way, that this is all about sexual deviancy ... I try to ask how my preference for wearing frilly socks with embroidered flowers and a comfortable camisole under my lavender T-shirts is sexually deviant (or sexual anything) but I don't get very far...

Not sure.  The perp is a minor.  The problem here is NOT transgender, the problem here is incompetent and criminal administration.  See https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/family-of-loudoun-co-student-sexually-assaulted-ineptitude-of-all-involved-is-staggering/3231725/ It is more than annoying that people think the problem here is TG and that other people think the solution is some stupid statewide law.  Like an appendectomy to deal with an ingrown toe nail.    Since Loudon, I recall a boy was asked not to use the girl's restroom at a high school by one of the girls.  He, overwhelming her with height and weight,  assaulted her, claiming he had a right to be there.   Later I think eight girls beat him severely in another girl's restroom.  Again the problem is not transgender, the problem is assaults in restrooms and common courtesy.  TG is used as a smokescreen and it seems to paralyze thought among administrators who do not want to do anything to provoke controversy.

Time to get with your Primary Care doctor and be referred to a neurologist or an orthopedist.  It could be many things, too many for any of us here to guess at.

Other than the Boy Scout motto, oath, and law. I use two:   When asked how I'm doing? In all honesty I reply. I would have to make something up to complain. If asked to explain further: I reply. I know someone is having a tougher time than I am, and I pray God blesses them.   I also recite this quote that I have tagged in my signature: Courage, doesn't always roar. Sometimes it's the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."-Unknown    Saying these things daily keep me motivated.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

If this goes on, I am conceding the real possibility of being stopped in WM or somewhere by a concerned citizen who tells me, "Lady, God made you female.  I don't think you should be trying to look like a man. You need to return to your true gender and be comfortable living your life out as a woman."   Begin odd and awkward conversation.  I have been thinking about this this morning.

There are many MAGA GOP types who are not transphobes, of course. Some MAGA GOP types are transgender.

I'm hoping to read the next section today.  Many of the reforms they are calling for are good, such as expediting the military procurement process, and have nothing to do with transgender issues.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either
