Surgery and Medicare

When I decided I definitely want bottom surgery, trachea shave and probably BA at some point I started looking for surgeons. All of my top choices did not take Medicare and that kind of bummed me out. Although I am selling off a comic collection I had from being a kid in the '60's, I was still bummed. @VickySGV mentioned to me there were a few who did accept Medicare in the LA area and approached the "Google" from a different direction asking what surgeons DID accept Medicare and found quite a few. One doctor in Wisconsin I've heard nice things about and contacted her. Then I found a woman doctor (I got it in my head that I don't want a man doctor) at the Cleveland Clinic who has a lot of top reviews and being in Central Ohio, that would be perfect as it would only be a 2-3 hour drive for me and Cleveland Clinic has a great reputation as does the doctor.

 

I'm not as bummed as I was and hopefully this will lead to a much better situation and hopefully as soon as I am eligible. Of course the Mericare acceptance i'm sure will have lots of loops to go through but I'm pumped and ready to go.

 

I guess my message is that if you are older, there is a chance Mericare WILL help with surgery.

Excellent News!!  There is always an answer to every situation.  I'm glad you found multiple choices, a few of which are close to you.  Yeah!
