Well today I decided that today was the day I was going to go to my local dollar store and by makeup for me. I wasn't going to say it was for my girlfriend, if asked I was going to say it was all for me because I was starting to transition. I was nervous, but I wasn't going to let that stop me and I really don't care what other people think. Yes the store was full of people, mostly women but also a fair amount of men. I went in the store and went directly to the makeup isle and picked up what I didn't have and then found a perfume I liked and lastly to pick up cat food. Can't forget the kitty's. Anyway, while I was looking for what I needed there was several women that stopped by to get makeup and I got the strangest look like what was I doing in this isle. Let me say that I wasn't presenting as female and I didn't care. I'm don't letting other people decide who I should be. Anyway, I got to the cashier and had all of my items on the belt and the cashier used the pronoun "sir", not a big thing and nothing to get mad over because I looked like a male. I said it's ma'am or Ms and let it go. What upset me after that was that after I told her it was ma'am or Ms she at the end of our interaction still called me "sir". Now I'm not going to lose my mind over it like the trans girl in that internet video, but it does hurt just a bit to know that she ignored me about who I was. After that I had to go to another store for loose powder, correct tone foundation, i bought a eyelash curler, and a pair of false lashes, and the girl ringing me up just smiled and didn't say anything. I preferred that over being miss gendered after telling someone what I preferred to be called.

Second thing, and this really hurts me deeply. I ordered 2 bras off Amazon, the fit around my ribcage but I got the cup sizes to large. It's a shame because I want big breast. So I have to return them and buy smaller. I told my 72 year old mother that I bought them and now I had to return them because they don't fit and she said they don't fit because men aren't supposed to wear bras. And then she got upset that I spent $20 a piece because she gets hers from Walmart and only the cheapest one. I only spent that amount because I couldn't find 58DD anywhere cheap. I know it's too big but at the time it's the size I thought I needed. This is all a trial and error thing for me. I don't have any girlfriend close enough to me to show me the ropes. That's why this place is a god send. I can ask for help when I need it.

I'm really thankful for all of you. If you don't have anyone to lean on this road can be extremely dark. You are all my bright beacon that shows me the way. So thats been my day guys, hows yours been.. lol

Hi Holly, sorry to hear about the bad cashier experience and response from your mom.

As for bras, I highly recommend the calculator by A Bra That Fits. They are trans friendly and provide an option for amab to adjust the calculations. This should help you get closer to your actual size. Also, if you don’t know about sister sizes and extenders, do a quick google search, it may also help you out.

Thank you SaraAW. I will try the calculator by A Bra That Fits. Looks like it's going to be a huge help. Maybe no more bad purchases in the bra department. OMG that would be awesome to get a bra that fits correctly. I'm actually excited to use the calculater. I'm going to share it with the cis women I know so they can get properly fitting bra. Thank you.

@HollyNoel I commend you on correcting that cashier. I haven't had the courage to do that. Although I keep telling myself I will correct someone if get mis-gendered, I don't.

Elizabeth, I only did it because I wanted her to know who I was and because I felt that I need to embrace who I am in order to fully accept who I am. Also I'm not wanting to hide anymore. I want to be a confident woman and not a timid boy. I'm not saying that doing what I did is right for everyone, you have to go at your own pace. Just make sure you're safe what ever you do. And Elizabeth, you may not be ready now but you will be. Just remember, confidence makes all the difference in the world. I say this now but I have yet to go out in public fully dressed or in makeup. I haven't even dressed in front of my mom. Strangers are easy, its the ones you care about that are the hardest. This confident woman may end up a frightened little girl.. lol

Hey Holly, I've been going out fully dressed and always with makeup since the beginning of the year. I just can't seem to ever stand up for myself. Things I'm working on in therapy.

Elizabeth, I really wish I had your strength. You are an amazing woman. I had my first therapy last Tuesday and I absolutely love her. I can't wait to get to your stage. Though next month maybe that point. I want to buy a nice dress, wig, and shoes and venture out into the world. The only thing that's stopping me now is that I have absolutely nothing in my closet. Anyway i look up to you, I really wish I could go out. Elizabeth, I'm rooting for you sister. Oh and I think you are so beautiful.

SaraAW, I just did the calculator and it said I was a 54DD and not a 58DD. I'm hoping its right because I really didnt fill the DD cup of the 58DD bra at all. So now that I know and have a starting off point, I can find a more natural fitting bra. That should make buying proper fitting clothing even easier. Thanks again SaraAW

OK. So I found out that I am a 54DD, I looked on Walmart and they have really cute bras in that size. I could just die right now. When I searched for 58DD there was absolutely nothing in that size, and what I found on the internet was either black, tan, or white. nothing cute or sexy. I could just about die right now. Now I know my recommended size I can really start looking for the really cute stuff. lol

Im in love with this tee shirt bra. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Comfort-Choice-Women-s-Plus-Size-Stay-Cool-Wireless-T-Shirt-Bra/136539978

54DD and not a 58DD

How did your 58DD fit around your chest? The number is the circumference of your chest, just below your breasts, where the band fits. A bra should be be slightly snug, without digging in, on the last hook. Dropping 4 band sizes is quite a bit. Cup size is proportional to band size, so a 54DD will definitely have smaller cups, but it may also be tighter. This is where the bra  hook extenders come in. Allowing you to drop band and by extension the volume of the cups, while still having it fit around your chest. Also keep in mind, there is a lot of variation in design that can affect how bras of the same size actually fit.

That’s a very cute bra.

Wishing you lots of luck in finding comfy bras that fit well. Hugs!

SaraAW, the band fit nice around the rib cage. It wasn't snug so I'm guessing it might have been a bit too big but not by much I think. I could get 3 fingers between the band and my chest. The cups were definitely to big. My breast wasn't even clots to filling either one. The calculated said 54DD was my recommended bra. I'm thinking that since walmart has fitting rooms maybe if I explain to the attendant maybe she will let me try on a few different sizes. I can ask, all they can do is say no and if that happens I'll just buy a couple and return them if they don't fit. Most business like to work with trans people and the ones that don't like trans people do work with us out of fear of getting sued. So the next time I'm in Wal-Mart I'm going to grab a few that I like and ask the attendant.

T-Shirt bras are super soft and comfy. There's a bit of give in them too, so that's lovely. Good choice! Doesn't come in my size though. <pout>

Hugs!

Yeah, if I'm a 54DD then it comes in my size but not if I'm actually a 58DD. Lol

I'd love to have a dinner party with Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Voltaire, and Ayn Rand.  Would definitely be an interesting time.

In the forward I learn that transgenderism is bad, and somewhere else that transgender ideology is bad.  I have not yet read a definition of either in the document.  I assume they are the same.  I know Focus on a Family has a definition of transgenderism on their website, or did, but I am not sure this is the same as that.  I might agree that transgenderism is bad if they use a definition I condemn (e.g. transgenderism means you always pour ketchup in your shoes before you put them on - I could not agree to that).  Is someone who believes in transgenderism, whatever it is, a transgenderist? I never see that term.  There may be other definitions out there, but I don't think there is an Official Definition that we all agree to.

Crazy fact, was gonna go to the school where this went down at before I moved, have a lot of friends there. I know at least one of my friends met the guy on one occasion, not knowing who it was.

They are thinking of Loudon.  The problem there was the girls were not protected from a known predator, who was moved from one school to another instead being effectively disciplined.  Outlaw school administrators? <sarc>

How ironic.  I agree with the governor "“You cannot change your gender; you cannot pick your gender…there is a confused group of people that somehow think you can,”    - we are what we are, we are fighting the fact we CANNOT change our gender, which we did not pick.  Many if not all of us would not have picked a trans condition and have sought to evade, deny or move out or resolve it anyway we can.  Those who are confused on this issue are not trans folk.  They want us to change our gender but they deny we can.  Confusion.

@FinnyFinsterHH no one can satisfy your questions about what will the future hold. But I can advise you to slow your mind down as much as you're able. Take it slow and one moment at a time. This advice goes beyond the practical reality that that's truly all you can do - further, try to enjoy each moment. It's clear you have a lot of aspirations regarding transition. But it's best to try to accept the bounds of your life circumstances at present because if you develop worries or even resentments about them, that will only make you bitter and more anxious. Instead, try to focus on anything you find affirming. Practice positive self-talk and give yourself affirmations too. Try to let go of expectations of your family members - they can only deal with change to the capacity they're able due to their own life conditions. Allow them grace as you wish they would allow you. Practice patience.   Try this exercise - read through your post and make one list of the positive developments and another of things you cannot control (including the future). If you have a sense of spirituality, offer the second list as a sacrifice to however you understand a higher power - leave it in their hands. If you're not spiritual, then offer it up to hope. Then throw that list away. Keep the list of positives and leave some room on it because guaranteed you'll have more and more to add. Look forward to that, but don't let your mind think it can rush things. Try to enjoy the ride.

I still have not read much of this.  Very little of this document pertains to trans folk.  Some of the statements are more than problematic concerning trans folk.   It certainly was not written just to get us.   " those with gender dysphoria should be expelled from military service."  and "Reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military. Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service,"  https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_CHAPTER-04.pdf are two lines out of hundreds if not thousands regarding the Department of Defense, targeting trans folk in an almost off-hand manner.    So if a fighter pilot, say, or a ship's captain, highly experienced and trained at enormous expense, is determined to be transgender (method unknown) the US loses someone badly needed due to the personnel shortage who is ready, willing and able to perform their duties.  Many trans folk have served well and transitioned later.  I don't think this point is well thought out.    A number of policy recommendations I would disagree with.  I am not sure there is a method to discuss those with the authors; I am attempting to find out.  I have good conservative creds.    They are fully intending to implement this, regardless of who the president is, as long as that president is conservative. It is not Trump centered.  I don't think he had anything to do with it.

I wear a Delimira Mastectomy sleep bra with Vollence sleep rated breast forms. The form fit inside pockets so they don't touch your skin. I bought the bras on Amazon and found the forms on eBay. They were much less expensive than buying through the other sources.

I don't wear a bra to bed.  The girls aren't big enough to need it, but still enough to appreciate.  Just a flannel nightgown suits me fine.
