Study: Trans Persons Are More Likely to be Autistic

I have also heard that Transfolks have a higher percentage of being dyslexic.   Dyslexia is more than simply mixing up "b" & "d".   (which I only found out lately, and explains a lot about myself).  It can also involve remembering numbers, (like phone numbers - I've had to write mine down at times so I wouldn't forget it) or spelling can be a big problem - just to name a couple.

Just thought I'd mention it.

My parents think I've been brainwashed into thinking I'm transgender and they think Asperger's caused me to be brainwashed. I haven't said anything to them about how it's more common for people on the autistic spectrum to be transgender because they'll probably interpret that as evidence that those on the autistic spectrum are easily brainwashed.

Also, I've noticed a lot of LGB (in addition to trans) people on autism related forums, especially a lot of lesbians.

Raises hand

I'm trans and on the spectrum. For me, it's as if finding out that I'm autistic answered most, but not all, of the questions about who I am, and discovering that I am trans is filling in the gaps.

I was formally diagnosed on the spectrum about ten years ago. I knew that autistic people are more likely to be queer people as well, so I wonder why it took another decade for me to figure out that I am also trans. I questioned my sexuality and considered myself to be queer, but the fly in the ointment with that is that I don't like guys that way.

And now? Lo and behold, I'm gay after all. Gay for girls. I have always been attracted to lesbians anyway. I just figured that I was some weird dude who was barking up the wrong tree.

I do accept that when the time comes to begin HRT, that there is the possibility that my sexuality may shift. I would find it weird to be attracted to men, but que sera, sera.

My wife thinks that I am on the autism spectrum.  I have never been diagnosed as such, but I don’t think she’s wrong.  It might explain a few things.  (I think she’s ADHD, so we’re even. )

I have had a mosaic pattern of traits that fit AS spaces for years.  My attention span being the most noticeable unless I get fully engrossed in something.  The somethings and just that, somethings such as crafts or other hobbies where I block out other concerns and sadly they are not human relations where I can listen to or involve myself with one person for a long time.  Hobbies and even some assignments at my former job could have me lost for days, and during those times other people were an intrusion, and if they went on too long with something I had to abruptly stop them and figure out what the hell they were getting to.  I also do not need a lot of reasoning and justification to reach a decision.  I have taken part in a forum for Trans Aspie's for several years and feel at home in their boundaries and thought patterns.  Once I get an idea, I want people to accept that I have gotten it and go on to the next level which happens too fast for most people I know.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.

      Who, precisely, are "they"?

Wife of mine pointed out that not getting a haircut for a month looks hideous - weird bald patches.  So back to super- short buzz cut.  This morning I braced, looking in the mirror.  I look like a woman trying to pass as a a guy, maybe  a small-breasted woman with enough T treatment to grow a mustache.    I would not believe me if I read what I write about me.  This is nuts.   White t-shirt: that they sell in the back of WM so you can tie-dye them or otherwise decorate them. They are thick and long lasting and slightly fitted, so that they could be a man's.  I like them.   Jeans, flip flops.   I will no longer point out these are women's.  What else would I wear?

That is all that is necessary. I did the same thing. I must have gotten something wrong.

Quite right mate! I have been letting my hair grow out again (I cut it all off when I was 18).    I'll never look this good:    But I'll aspire to look my best! ☺️
