What is YOUR passion

I worked for Ford Aerospace and it was for money to live being I am such a pacifist and couldn't figure out why I was working in a bomb factory (I finally quit and worked in the Oil & Gas Business - not much better but it kept a roof over my head) and for a place like Walmart in the gun deptartment and hated every minute. That's as close to manly man things and I never felt comfortable doing any of those things. Thank goodness I retired with some of my wits and 25% of my sanity left... enough to finally come to gips with who I am and making progress to showing the world what I truly look like and am.

This was always a big thing for me, I felt I had to hide these parts of me.   I don't know… was this fear of appearing feminine internalized transphobia?  In my case I would have to look at it that way.

Coming out to myself was a big step.  Coming out in public was scary, but easier in a way.

Interesting question Jandi. It could have been internalized transphobia or possibly fear to admit to myself who I truly am. Coming out to myself in 2017 was like a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders and explained a lot of things about my past. Coming out in public scares me right now, more so to my wife. I think my kids willl accept me. Thank you for the question!

I am so unsure about what my passion is. I know there are many things that I like. I do not have one specific thing that I am so into that it is more important than the rest though.

No one said you can only have one passion or one that is more important then the other passions. So having several things you like to do is a good thing and makes the unique person you are

As Heather noted this is okay and normal.  My grandfather used to say it was better to be a Jack (or Jackie!) of all trades than a master of one.  The same can go with our diversions.  Being able to try or do multiple things is wonderful as it opens our world to any possibility!

People used to tell me I was just good enough to get into trouble. They also said I broke the mold since I was an only child. I had to learn a lot of lessons the hard way since I had no elder siblings to learn from. There's a lot one can learn from falling down as long as getting up is the goal. You always seem to find the nicest way to say things. Thanks

Beautiful sentiment!  I like it.

Thanks for the complement.

That is wonderful. My wife loves to cook and I am finally watching of the food channel shows but sadly I still have problems remembering to remove the cardboard bottoms on frozen pizzas before putting in oven and I can actually burn water.

Flying a Boeing 737 or 787 Dreamliner.

My story on this may seem kind of crazy, but I definitely missed my calling.

A little over a year ago, I tried a flight simulator app. I've tried chinsier flight simulator apps before, but they were far less realistic and didn't really appeal to me much. This app is so much more realistic! Something clicked. I loved flying! I found a life dream I never even realized I'd had. When I take off, it's absolutely magical. But my favorite thing is landing. That's where the greatest amount of skill is required. It uses satalite imagery for the land features. Actual cockpit displays and layouts. The only let down is when I pull up to the gate and apply the parking break, the flight's over.?

I fly for Delta Airlines out of Chicago's O'Hare. I fly while I'm at work at my real job. On Friday and Saturday mornings I have a 4 hour red eye flight between Chicago and LA. On Sunday and Monday evenings I have a 2 1/4 hour flight between Chicago and Denver. Flight times do not include time sitting at the gate, taxiing, or sitting in line waiting to take off. After more than a year of doing this, I still love it and look forward to going to work and flying each time.

Now I wish I had taken life more seriously as a teen and young adult, and had discovered this dream then while there was time to chase it down and realize it. But with a required 4 year college degree, another 18 months of flight school, then acquiring at least 1500 hours fight time renting an aircraft, then working my way up through smaller jobs, by the time I could apply as a 1st Officer with an airline, I would be past the mandatory retirement age.? (Mom's, don't let your kids squander their dreams partying).? Painful smile.

But I do have my simulator. And crazy or not, I love it!

"The fascination of flight can't be expressed with words. But it really lies beyond the capabilities of human endeavor. Once you've experienced it, you'll never be able to forget it". (A favorite quote)

Time to check weather info for my flight to Denver and take a nap before I leave.?

Lots of love and happy landings,

Timber Wolf ? Flight Cpt. ??

I love the books by Richard Bach - Isslusions, A Gift of Wings, of course Jonathan Livingston Seagull and many of the others and he shows his love of flight - I am happy you are able to enjoy your passion - and nothing wrong with pursuing it with more gusto now - when the time is right - it will come - Enjoy your flight FLIGHT CPT.

I am glad that I got my flying fix in early, via the air force.  It was the best job.  Flying the first launch of the day before sunrise, knowing that I had all that airspace to myself!  Ahh!  Too bad I had to be a soldier to do it.

Thanks for sharing your passion, Capt. Wolf.

Hopefully a good one. I love that picture and just remembered it when I was reading about her love of flying.

I am starting to think my passion has been leaning toward starting my own business. I have a few decent ideas but, it isn't cheap to start something like a new business. I would want a couple years of direct involvement but the overall goal would be to pay employees a better than just living wage and ensure a welcoming, enriched environment that they can be proud to be a part of. I think it is important to have a sense of security and importance to an employer. Since I can't seem to find one that seems to fit those needs very well for me, I think I should just create one. Too bad it takes money to make money.

For some reason I had this in mind while I was reading how much you love flying @Timber Wolf. I know it's not a 737 or a 787 but I thought you might like it.

Wow! This is really awesome. This is symbolic of me. Wolves are another passion I've had my whole life. I love this picture and hope you don't mind my taking a screen shot of it.

Lots of love,

It is hard to pick just one passion. I have had so many over the years. It has been everything from Model trains, Roller skating, Even R/C truck pulling. I still enjoy building model cars. Cars in general, motorcycles. Lately I have been into ( again) sound quality Car Audio. ( former 2001 USACi sound quality world champion.) & Off roading, I want to get back into dog training, just waiting to find my Sheltie.

Lately I have enjoyed reading and writing Transgender stories. I take my lap top to work and will write on my breaks. I have posted some on top shelf/ big closet ( from where I found TP.)

@Timber Wolf when I saw the posting from @Abi I couldn't wait to see it - it kind of reminds me of a painting I wanted to use for the cover on my first album with my band called Silverhorse. We planned on calling the album "Don't Turn Your Back on a Second Story Window" and Atlantic Records was ready to sign us after they saw us live and the band imploded and I was really bummed ☹️

Hei all sammen,

I have 3 passions. Art, Music and Writing. Some days I will paint, some days, write music or just play an instrument and other days I will spend working on ma novel I am writing. Each day is different and I choose which of my passions will best suit the mood off the day. I think having just one passion would be too limiting. Whatever your passion is, temper it with time apart from its lest you burn out and never want to do it again.

I am really glad you like the picture. It felt like something you would like. I just had to share. You are more than welcome to the picture. It was not one of my own creation, just one I really love. I have had an obsession with wolves my whole life. My mother made a latchhook wolf for me many years ago and her amazing work is what inspired me to latchhook as well. I could never keep my attention on the controls of an airplane. The phrase, "We're going down!!!" , comes to mind. I will leave the airways to professionals such as yourself.

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Things hit the fan today. I was reminded that "this is not a gender fluid establishment."   I had changed my preferred name and gender at the hospital on their app. My x-ray report came in with my preferred name and gender. It was not appreciated by the centre. 😬

I'm not a nutritionist but I've gone on bulking diets in the past so I can suggest a couple things to try. Foremost, food-prep stuff that you like to eat. Any 'real food' that usually sounds good to you. That way, you don't have the time-sink or hassle of cooking for every meal. You're more likely to eat if stuff if it's convenient and mostly ready. For example, I'll spend an hour or so one evening prepping burrito ingredients that will last me the next 3 nights. Then it's just a matter of microwaving the beef/beans and throwing them into a tortilla; takes 5 min.   If you need food 'on the go' often, consider prepping smoothies in advance pre-separated out into individual containers. I personally like low-no fat yogurt blended with fruit and, here's the weird part, those water flavor drops. They add sweetness without dumping in excess sugar. Insulated containers will keep them reasonably fresh non-refridgerated all day so they can even be tossed into a backpack.    Hope of those sparked some ideas!

I did get a sorry from the mechanic, saying it was all on him. The boss just said I just went by what I was shown. I didn't look at the paper work. I thought maybe you should before jumping down someones throat.   I am still in the market. Just waiting to find the right one.   Hugs, Kymmie
