Halloween dressing.

I keep seeing posts about CDers  only dressing and going out in public on Halloween.

I never understood why they couldn't go out dressed any day they wanted and why they are so fixated with Halloween.

Not being one who gets into Halloween and dressing up as some kind of character it just makes me wonder what their train of thought is.

Because nobody judges you on Halloween. You can be whoever, or whatever, you like and nobody cares. It's just a costume. It's all just for fun.

I have a bi-gendered friend who mostly goes this route, though she comes out for other events. Her friends all know what's going on, what name to use, etc... but she limits herself to events. I suppose it's a good way to remain closeted without being closeted? I mean the people that would accept her know, but she can still point at the circumstances and tell her boss that it was a costume.

Not something I was willing to do (obviously) but it (mostly, she still struggles with bouts of depression) works for her.

Hugs!

Edited tense in a sentence because I don't proofread as well as I think I do.

Oh….      Then it's really not a Satanic Cult of some kind?

Heh Heh

The first time I ever wore a dress was for Halloween.  Of course I was just a kid and had never heard of "transgender" or cross dressing either as far as I know.  But I still remember it - was one thing I thought about when I was trying to figure myself out much later.

Depends on who you ask. A friend of mine had to "patrol the perimeter" for "signs of demons" on Halloween night so nobody would get possessed.

The big thing about Halloween is that it is safe to dress however you want.  Nobody will question your masculinity if

But I made it a point of never wearing female clothes at Halloween.  I didn't want anyone to get the impression that it was a costume, or that I was "dressing up".

I don't dress differently for Halloween, but of course I wear female clothes all the time anyway.  I usually have some candy for the kids on hand, but nobody comes out here and I'm forced to eat it myself.  It's rough.

I guess the difference  is I am transgender and not a CDer.

I don't have any guy clothes other than some flannel shirts so its girl clothes 24/7

<laugh> Same here. I've been told that flannel shirts and racerbacks are the traditional garb of my people (I'm very, very gay) so... They're also pretty darn comfortable and snuggly warm in the winter.

I've used Halloween as "cover" for trying out new thing for years.

This has been a thought in back of my mind but maybe I'll just wear a cute dress.

I was paying for my gas one Halloween night and a CDer came in and the guy cashier was a bit on the rude side and called the guy a fa&&ot so I tend to think Halloween isn't the all forgiving day a lot of CDers think it is.

The cashier never said a word to me or called me any names.

A good portion of my boobs were on display so maybe that was the key passing that afternoon.
