Hey

recently my voice has been starting to sound a lot more male, i used to be able to suppress that but i can't now which literally makes me too dysphoric to speak.

the issue is that it's hard to do voice training because i don't want my parents hearing it, i don't really want them to hear me speak at all because they're un-supportive and try to convince me that i'm not trans, and my dad would keep bringing it up and making puberty jokes, which he does a lot already.

anyone have advice for this? i literally can't even whisper now.

thanks.

OK, here are some quick and dirty tricks to get you back in the game so to speak.

Head Voice: You need to be speaking up and forward. It takes practice, but all voice training takes practice. Aim for your nose and front teeth.

Intoning: Are you familiar with intoning? Think about singing monks. It's basically using your singing voice, high and clear, when you're speaking. There won't be a ton of inflection, but that's OK. The trick here is keeping your voice where you want it when you talk.

Breathy: Find a video on youtube with Marilyn Monroe. Listen to how she talks. Add a bit to that to your speaking voice. Heck, add a LOT to your speaking voice if you want. It sounds ridiculous. I sound a little like Jessica Rabbit when I pull out the stops. It helps you find a feminine pitch though.

Obviously daily drills would be better, but practicing while you talk isn't all bad. Any practice is good practice.

Hugs!

There's a really good app called Voice Pitch Analyzer that tells you when your voice is in feminine, masculine or androgynous ranges.

I got results by reading aloud to myself to get used to using my voice in the desired pitch and checking with the app every so often to make sure it's holding in the range I want it.

I've using it off and on for the last couple of weeks. I spend a lot of time the phones at work so I use the time to practice upping my pitch. Usually by the end of the day I start getting a little raspy but I think over-all it may be helping. I can more or less keep it in an androgynous range all day.

You might be overdoing it (don't break your voice), but a swallow of room-temperature water, a good yawn or a nice, deep sigh helps loosen up your vocal muscles again and help prevent injury.

Oh, I should add another exercise you can do quietly is this:

Take a swallow of room-temperature water (you'll be able to do it without the water eventually, but for now use water). Stop halfway through when your voice box is high. Hold it as long as you can. You can breathe through your nose while you're doing this, but it takes practice, so don't be discouraged when you can't right away. It helps develop the muscles you need to talk in a female pitch for longer periods of time.

Hugs!

The tools I use are the YouTube 6 part feminization series by the VOICE STYLIST and she highly recommends the PITCH app so you train your hear and extend your range through exercises. Her series uses the principles I learned on vocal coaching years ago and in a month my range was higher and I could hit notes in my band I'd never reached before. I use the Pitch Pitch Analyzer as well and one that I like called Voice Tools - because it has a long vocal reading exercise and it analyzes percentage of female and male range - I'm up to about 90-95% F and only 3-5% M consistantly.

The most important thing is exercising every day - I do it twice a day and practice whenever I'm doing something like cutting grass, driving someplace, etc.

Hello all,

i can actually provide some help here. I found a girl on utube that is a voice/music major as well as a trans girl. Her stuff is under "transvoicelessons" and she is spectacular with helping how to approach this in a scientific, reliable manner (IMO). I hope you get the help you are looking for here. Mine has been changing little by little and i understand the sounding to bassy and male for my tastes. However, practice makes perfect as they say and i can attest to this helping so much. I wish you the best.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.

      Who, precisely, are "they"?

Wife of mine pointed out that not getting a haircut for a month looks hideous - weird bald patches.  So back to super- short buzz cut.  This morning I braced, looking in the mirror.  I look like a woman trying to pass as a a guy, maybe  a small-breasted woman with enough T treatment to grow a mustache.    I would not believe me if I read what I write about me.  This is nuts.   White t-shirt: that they sell in the back of WM so you can tie-dye them or otherwise decorate them. They are thick and long lasting and slightly fitted, so that they could be a man's.  I like them.   Jeans, flip flops.   I will no longer point out these are women's.  What else would I wear?

That is all that is necessary. I did the same thing. I must have gotten something wrong.

Quite right mate! I have been letting my hair grow out again (I cut it all off when I was 18).    I'll never look this good:    But I'll aspire to look my best! ☺️
