Hello Everyone

My name is Aurora and I just want to say hello and introduce me.  I used to be on here but could not remember my display name, so I created a new one.  It does feel good to be back.  I love being able to post in here and it does help me out when I feel down and everyone cheers me up.  I love also helping out others as well and giving my experience.

I have been medically transitioning since January 2018 and been socially transitioning since September 2017.  There are times that I feel that I do not pass as I am 39 years old and wish that I had transition sooner, but back in the 80's and 90's there was not much heard of being Trans.

I am 39 years old and live in the Phoenix AZ valley area in the US.  I am a tall woman at 6ft tall and average.

When I was on here before, I have met alot of good friends and became friends with them outside of here.  One recent member I met from her YouTube videos and I love talking to her is Jackie Rabbit.

hope to meet some more new friends

Aurora

Welcome back Aurora.  Little different look and some new faces, but the same attitude and acceptance as always. If you remember your old name and account details, PM one of the Admins and we may be able to put you back together.

Welcome back Aurora!  I'm glad to see you've rejoined us.  Being able to post when we're down and get response is certain a benefit of the site.  Lots of caring people here!  I look forward to seeing you around!

Cheers,

Jani

Hi Aurora! Nice name!

You sound similar to me! Although I haven't started transitioning (don't believe my profile pic, it's a lie) and I'll only start gender counseling monday, I'm another 6' footer (without shoes), and I'll be 39 in December. And yes, as much as I may miss them, the 80's/90's didn't have the most awareness of this, and I too regret that fact and envy the present-day trans youth. Maybe in next life!

Glad to meet you!

@Aurora  @Heather Nicole

I noticed that You are 6 footer, I have got 190 cm in in the measuring system adopted in my country (this is almost 6,3 in US system) and this is another thing which makes me realize who I really am (maybe another little dysphoria). Have You ever have difficulties with how tall are You or maybe it hides in the shadow of difficulties with, for example, dysphoria of the sexual organs?

Welcome Aurora! Nice to meet you. Hope to read more about you and your journey as you reacquaint yourself with the forum. There have been a few changes in the website and staff but our goal here never changes. I’m sure you have much to share about your adventures over the past several years of medical transition. Feel free to join in the fun.

Warmest Regards,

Susan R?

Hello Heather Nicole:

Back in the 80's and 90's there was no awareness at all and there was just starting to hear about Gay and Lesbian but nothing about Trans.  With gender counseling, just be yourself and tell your story and be open minded and truthful.  I started seeing my therapist back in January 2017 and I still see my therapist as I medically transitioning.

Thank You

Sure there was! It was just sideshow stuff in the back of men's magazines (there was a guy on my block, his dad had a subscription to EVERYTHING and left them scattered all over his den. Naturally, his sons snuck some out to the rest of us). It certainly wasn't informative or enlightened though. This would have been in the late 70's early 80's. I think it was the late 80's early 90's when it started showing up more in the fetish porn. Again, sideshow stuff and never in a positive light. If you REALLY dig into it, I can find "half-and-half" acts dating back into the 1800's. Once again, fetish stuff (for the menfolk) and not an enlightened presentation, but we've ALWAYS been around. Heck, there was a Roman emperor who demanded early transition surgery. Brave woman, I wouldn't even consider something like that with the medicine of the day. It hurt more than enough with modern drugs and protocols thank you very much.

Hugs!

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

No, they are the only provider of services I need an my area. 😑

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!

Things hit the fan today. I was reminded that "this is not a gender fluid establishment."   I had changed my preferred name and gender at the hospital on their app. My x-ray report came in with my preferred name and gender. It was not appreciated by the centre. 😬
