New to Cross Dressing in DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth)

I am very new to this, and determined to keep it a secret! I luv the way nylons and soft, sexy ladies intimates feel against my skin. I've worked up the courage to make a quick detour thru the womens dept on my way out of Wal-Mart a couple times.. hurriedly picked out the biggest pair of stockings I could find. (yes, I'm a big guy. 6 ft. 240 lbs.)  Added it to a small basket of other items and acted nonchalant- like it's for the wife... Not certain if the check out lady, or anybody else in line suspected- but nobody said anything. I would really appreciate any advice on where, how, and what to buy..  Where can I find plus/ super plus sizes that look good and fit me?  Where can I find discount or discontinued lingerie and/or high heels?  How do I find local gurls like myself to meet up with and engage in mutual femme?   Plz help me out here, I would absolutely appreciate it.  Thank you very much!

Welcome to the Forums.  We have a lot of the information you are looking for here in this Forum already.  Thrift shops make a great source of clothing that is cheap and will do in your experimental days of finding "your look".  Unless you are in a super small area where the cashier is a next door neighbor, the employees in those stores are at least not snoopy as to what is in the shopping cart.

On our Main Page we do have a sizing chart for buying clothing that works pretty well.

Welcome to Trans Pulse, Eddie.  Vicky has steered you in the right direction.  There is/was an organization for cross dressers called Tri-Ess, which had outlets in many communities.  But I don't know their current status, and they likely are not active in these Covid times anyway.  If you Google "cross dresser organizations" you'll get many other hits, as well.

Just be sure that any you contact are legitimate, and please don't ever do a meet up with someone that isn't in a very public place, and make sure folks know where you are and who you;re meeting with.  Safety should be your highest priority.  There are predators out there.

HUGS

Hi @eddiedavis_1974!  nice to meet you, Welcome! and Congratulations on starting your journey is self-discovery and fulfilling your desires!

Crossdressing was the beginning of my journey and (Obviously) I enjoy that part greatly since I am still closeted as Transfeminine.
My savior has been Amazon.  I love "window shopping" on their site (and others) since I don't have the courage and opportunity to purchase in public yet.
A bit by trial and error I learned how to convert womens size charts for different apparel to meet my body size and type.  Its been generally successful, specially when you can find a brand you like and stick with that.  Stockings/nylons can surprisingly be difficult for tall girls our size, but the size charts usually use height and weight to match.  Also, read the REVIEWS section and for women who list their size in the review.
Women's shoes will usually be 2 sizes larger than Men's size - if you are a Men's 10, the usually that would be a Womens-12

Enjoy being the person you've always been meant to be❣️ and ...

Deep breaths ... one step at a time

Eddie,

Don't worry too much about purchasing ladies things.  These days, it is so commonplace, nobody ever bats an eyelash.   The shoe company Pleaser makes shoes all the way up to size 15.  For stylish larger size clothing, I like Torrid and Kiyonna, both online.

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!

Things hit the fan today. I was reminded that "this is not a gender fluid establishment."   I had changed my preferred name and gender at the hospital on their app. My x-ray report came in with my preferred name and gender. It was not appreciated by the centre. 😬
