You are not crazy!

Well maybe you are but not due to your being different.  We are not mentally ill simply because of our gender issues.  I loved the gutter from one of the daily reflexions I read.  It is from a book called “Glad Days, reflexions for the Glbt community”.  Published by Hazelden.  While it is directed towards alcoholics in recovery it often rings true whether we have an substance problem or not.

Thank you for sharing this powerful affirmation. Reading this reminded me why I struggled so much early on with accepting myself and coming out as transgender. When I was younger, a common term was "gender identity disorder" which really made me feel like I was crazy, and had some problem to be treated and cured rather than accepted and understood. That term made me want to hide and that's what I did for years. But now, I do feel accepted and understood and I'm on the right path!
