This is great news!  I had to provide a doctor's letter, and its patently ridiculous.  Biden's admin would likely have changed the regulation anyway, but this seals the deal.

I do not have a passport, but I now have my Birth Certificate that has been corrected.  I do still have 2 of the three copies of my notarized Certificate of Gender Re-Assignment that we automatically assumed I would need 8 years ago when I had GCS.  This will make those unneeded in the future thankfully.  It is a relief in a way, but exciting to me as well to see the changes coming.

Great!  I want to be "X" gender on my passport and drivers license.  And have an alternative (AKA) name besides my legal name.  I hope this comes to full fruition.

Like you Carolyn Marie i had to wait until after surgery and present a letter from my doctor prior to getting a passport.  The same was true in NJ for a birth certificate at that time under the Christe administration but now it is no longer required.  It's definitely getting better.
