I've always had really thick, beautiful eyelashes that I absolutely love. They're like the only naturally feminine thing about me. However, when I was at the eye doctor's awhile back, she made a comment about my eyelashes and how men tend to have thicker lashes than women. So my question here is for the MtFs, have any of you experienced a thinning of the eyelashes on blockers/HRT? Do you think your eyelashes aren't as full as when you were not on HRT?

Obviously this wouldn't keep me from HRT if it turns out the eyelashes do thin out, but I would be kind of disappointed. I really do love having naturally long/thich lashes that look like I poured on mascara when I really didn't XD.

Three months in and I have yet to see any thinning, although I'm a little worried now, thanks... :D

I also have naturally thick eyelashes and I doubt, if there is thinning, it will be substantial.

On a side note, have you ever seen Nestor Carbonell's eyelashes? I thought he was wearing eyeliner for the longest time, but it turns out they're just really full. (Pic below to demonstrate point)

No - opposite with me - of course it may be thinning the eyebrows makes lashes look better.

Nope,no thinning lashes for me either.

I was always lucky to have long girlish eyelashes anyway.Mascara made them look

longer and curl prettily.Mine are so long they drag on my sunglasses,smudging the lenses.

Been a year on hormones for me and my lashes have not changed, at least not that i have noticed, mine were not real thick to begin with.

YAY! AWESOME!

Thanks everyone for clearing that up for me. I was really worried I was going to lose my beautiful lashes once I got on HRT. XD Silly me...

After 5.5 years of HRT my lashes are unchanged.

But my eye color changed. I used to have brown eyes and sometime after starting HRT they changed to hazel. B)

My endo said that happens sometimes.

      This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

      In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

      I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.
