So it sounds like if you're on HRT in either direction you are more safe from experiencing long term effects from Covid.  Did I get that right?

Yes and no, it is yet to be determined for the study is practically being put into rushed research. But from what's implied if Covid effects the hormone out put of the body the damage can be vast and your body requires a certain amount of hormones to maintain bodily functions. But if it's being attacked and your regular hormone output is being affected, it could cause problems for the treatment you receive. It might help but without more further study and tests, it's still a lot of uncertainty. But it's best to be extra safe and have your doctor test your hormones for irregularities or if they're low, especially if you're receiving HRT.

I guess I missed that reverse connection.  Yes, that could be a problem when on HRT.

It's very scary cuz if the hormones are being effected your body can be literally turned into a weapon against itself. Reason why the reactions are so different cuz everybody has there own levels. But I fear for the children cuz this can really mess up our future generations. It can literally mess with their bodies in more extreme ways cuz they are still developing. Who knows maybe hormone therapy might work. Maybe we will all need hormone therapy, if this virus isn't taken cared of quickly enough, and we are botching it hard.
