First she gives me a crazy quiz now she wants to drag up unpleasant memories.....you really don't want to see the inside of that pool room do you? lol (for understanding, please refer to the 8th grade test)

I went to catholic school, grade 1-8. Holy Rosary Parish. OMG, lots and lots of bad memories. That's what parochial means, right? Parish schools? Sexually molested by a priest, physically abused by a nun who must have been 90 years old, oh, and we were told not to play with the kids from the Lutheran school because they were all going to hell because they weren't catholic.

How are you defining 'parochial school,' exactly? Fee paying? Religious? Both?

I went to national school from junior infants through fourth class, and then I went to public senior primary and secondary schools, but all the schools I went to had a Catholic ethos, so to speak. The only fees at senior primary and secondary were if you boarded or day-boarded.

I'm not sure I'm really in the population you're asking about though.

I know it is not the same, by any stretch of the imagination, but I went to private Baptist schools through the 8th grade. The first one was just for Kindergarten and then the second one I spent first through eighth grade in....both were tiny little schools with an entire school attendance of MAYBE 250 in kindergarten through 12th grade. The grade level I grew up with was the largest one at the school and we had a class of about 30....we were so big we needed 2 teachers for our entire grade! LOL Talk about a culture shock.....I left that school and enrolled in public schools for High School....I went from a class of 30 to a class of 600+......just SLIGHTLY different :P

I attended a baptist private school for a year in 8th grade because I was being abused daily in public school and my parents feared Id kill myself if they didnt get me out of the cycle. I cant say that the experience was great, but it probably did save my life just to get me away from the environment I had been in before, and at least it only lasted one year.

It was what it was. The school I attended was basically one room on the side of a church in the middle of nowhere. There were maybe 12 students, and they ranged from maybe 1st or 2nd grade through my age. It was pretty strange.

I think, around this time, I was really starting to have a lot of trouble with my identity issues and just didn't really have a clue what to do about it, how to express it, what it even was. I was just miserable and ashamed of myself in general and mostly wanted to be left alone. Period. Being in a religious school in a very rural area probably didn't help much. I wouldn't relive those times for anything.

I went to catholic school from kindergarden through 5th grade. I really disliked the Sisters who were teachers there. They were all very strict and seemed to give a lot more work than the regular teachers. I left before 6th grade due to the Sister who taught 6th grade as we had her as a teacher for one class in 5th grade. I'm not really sure why, but she seemed to really dislike me, and it was hard enough having her for 1 class, so I did everything I could to get my parents to put me into public school.

I went to a private catholic school from 1st grade through 12th. I liked the school and my kids all go there now.

It's also was a small school with about 300 or so kids, throughout the whole school. Now the school offers pre-school, developmental kindergarden and kindergarden. I never told anyone in my class or school about me. None know yet. I dont know if they will ever know about me.

I have my 25 year reunion this year. I really want to go and let my hair down, but I dont know. My wife says no.
