The days may seem to drag but its just because you're immobile.  Your body is doing its best to heal so you can get back to living life to its fullest.  Rest well.

Hugs, Jani

Thank you, Mike. It helps to get post my complaints and get some i encouragement. Hard now, but I’m sure I’ll feel happy in the long term. Thanks.

I felt pretty happy when I could sit comfortably again. ? You miss the little things.

For me that was about four weeks if I'm remembering correctly. In the meantime, try to enjoy your princess status. ?

Feel better soon sweetie!

Hugs!

Thank you, Jani! And Kay-san, too. At times like this, these little comments mean so much! I can’t begin to say how much! Progress is slow but steady. Thank you!

Thanks! I felt more like a princess before this started! So looking forward to a shower, but not ready for that yet apparently. Soon!

That is SO true. I never wanted a shower more in my LIFE than after a week of bedrest. I felt SO gross.

The first thing I did when I got back to the hotel after the bandages came off, the catheter was out and the packing came out was shower. It felt so very, very good.

Still, nurses bring you things. It's nice to be waited on sometimes.

Hugs!

I remember being afraid of taking a shower so not to hurt the new bits, but the desire over rode the fear.  It felt so good.  Progress may seem slow but your body is working overtime!  Keep smiling.

Hugs, Jani

Update and thanks to everyone who sent encouragement and support. I’m doing much, much better. Will probably be another week in the hospital, but most of the tubes coming out of my body have been removed. I still have the catheter in and am still worried about eating. I’m now on a real simple (mostly liquid) diet and still worried about my colon. I guess that’s the biggest difference with the surgery: you have a section of colon removed and then stitched up again, so that’s basically another major surgery on top of the vaginoplasty.

Earlier this week, I had many tears and a few moments of panic, but the worst, I feel, is over. Thank you again. The encouragement meant so much!

I'm glad you're feeling better and shedding tubes. Tubes are no fun. May you continue to heal swiftly and well!

Thanks, girls! I just got home from the hospital today. More like a smashed up cactus than roses, but we’re getting there! This week’s goal is to become friends with my catheter—my first boyfriend! Well, not really my first, but he’ll be in me all week, and I’m fighting the urge of just yanking him out. I go back to the hospital in a week to have him removed from my life permanently. I’ll have to reread that peeing thread then. Thanks again, everyone! It was nice having a place to moan when the going was tough! Kisses!

Getting rid of Mr. Catheter was glorious. Well, not the removal part, that sucked, but afterwards (and not having to navigate the world with a catheter bag) was lovely. May the days pass swiftly until you can kick him out of your life!

Hugs!
