My Intro

My name is Gwyn. I was born a natal male but my mother really wanted a girl. In fact she even had me wearing baby girl clothes for a few months. While growing up I tried fitting in with males and that was not successful. I always had a liking for feminine things and in high school this became significant. I started identifying more with the female gender and even pretended sometimes that I am a girl but I made myself stop because I thought male body is universally equal to male gender identity. When I tried to be masculine I felt like I was pretending to be what I am not. After high school I contemplated the female attributes I have and even came to the conclusion that it would had been better if I was born a girl. Didn't understand this so I looked online for anything about feeling like a female in a male body and found out about transgender. After doing more research about the female mind I understood that it really matches my own mind. So now I am to where I identify myself with the female gender but there is little body dysphoria which sometimes makes me feel like I am a poser and not really transgender. If I could magically change my body to be the perfect female body, I would, and I would not change back. I am trying to present myself to be femme and I doubt that I will ever get involved with hormones and surgery. Instead of going by my legal first & second names I go by Gwyn Isabella. Some people call me by my prefered name but some people choose to call me my legal name and I pretend to be okay with that but it only feels like I am being called what I am not.

More about me: I enjoy writing, I am an ovo-lacto-vegetarian, I listen to t.A.T.u. and Shakira a lot, I love my caffeine beverages, and I am an occultist.

I hope to meet new friends here.

Welcome Gwyn,

Come on into the members lounge and I'll get you some snacks - I have cookies and usually offer hot cocoa or cold milk but since you like caffine, I also have tea or coffee!

We are very friendly here and non judgemental.

I am MTF and very much want to transition fully, you are more in the transgendered catagory, you want to be female and live as female but have no nees to alter your body - we have a whole area of the forums for you too - but everyone is welcome everywhere - no class system here - Cross dressers, Androgyne to full MTF and FTM and we all get together and support each other - isn't that great?

Welcome to the friendlieat place on Earth.

Love ya,

Sally

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME

I see you wonderful intro and it covers a lot of ground, so you should have some interesting replies soon. If all your questions are not answered, feel free to post - you have access to all the forums but if you are a younger member, the teen forum is full of great advice - and if you are a college person, there are many people here at that level as well.

One comment from me - well two actually -

Poser? I doubt it. Many who have gender dysphoria don't really 'hate' their body. That is a cliche' - but to not identify with your body, that is typical.

Secondly, you need to get a professional to evaluate how you feel, if you want to get an answer. Self diagnosis is tricky and a gender trained therapist can evaluate you very quickly. They seem scary but actually they will be your best friend. HIGHLY recommended!

And we are glad to met you - me? I am older - we have a bunch of seriously senior here. And I am MTF and in transition - so much happier now. But it is COMPLICATED!

So look around and post post post - grin!

Hot cocoa is lovely! I also of course love cold coffees. =)

I feel the same way about what exactly I am and I am happy to see that someone also realizes this. And yes, the thing about the community is great!

Thank you. I am 22 years old, by the way.

This is right. I do not hate my body, I just do not identify with it. Like I mentioned in my intro, if I can magically change it, I would.

I know how I feel already and a woman who knows me better than anyone else says that my brain is totally female. I found out about a gender therapist near me and I must say that I do not care to pay $90 per hour for the service.

And I am MTF and in transition - so much happier now.

That's great! =)

Oh my, Gwyn! You are not bashful at all....lol

Well, that's wonderful...I'm so sorry that I couldn't get to you earlier....I work from 6:45 am until just a while ago!

But!...It's really nice to have you here...I see that you've met Sally, Lizzy, Joe and Rissa...beautiful people...you won't find sweeter anywhere!

I ran right over when I smelled the goodies!...lol

Well, Honey, you've gotten some good replies so far...

You know...we don't really like labels here and try to use them to a minimum...I always say that Gender is a sliding scale...Female the 0 and male the 10 (or the other way ..doesn't matter) and we put the pointer at whatever spot we feel the most comfortable at. It doesn't have to be 0 or 10.

I feel that there are as many genders as there are people! I just happen to be MTF and transitioning like many others here...

So, Hon....please make yourself comfortable and relax......OK?

Good.......

So nice of you to join our happy family.

I agree with bernii, your name is really pretty, and unique, no vowels.

nerdy dance - lol :)

I love to dance, and I'm probably a bit nerdy at the way I look when I dance too ;)
