The Catholic Church is the new evil

am sorry I have not been on FB for a while but the Vatican new stands on Gay marriage really worries me.
This is why I was attacked a month ago, this why LGBTQ folks worry they will be statistics. There's enough hate in this world already and now the establishment that represents healing public reject their own people called it a " CHOICE TO BE GAY."
I did not choose to be a woman. I was born with and fought most of my live with this feel until it almost end it . most recently few weeks ago. I did not choose to feel this pain.
Humans are born unto stereotypes , most of them are good with it but for the many( aka me) whom never felt right and whom didn't have the strength,( because of the shame) to speak out at a young age we didn't have a Choice.
WHAT A SAD DAY FOR THE CHURCH AND CHRISTIANS everywhere. I am really disappointed in Pope Francis. I really though he was different
On that note/ rant i leave you with this saying from an ex- Nun i know; -expletive- THE CHURCH !! They hate woman and their constantly afraid they will loss their wealth. Their Hepeating, Hippocrates, Patriarchies  who hate themselves for being gay." Miss u Mary. I hope you found your dream

I moved this here from the General Forum, as perhaps being the more appropriate place for it.  I caution folks to respect the opinion of others.  This is a sensitive topic, so please be mindful not to bash entire groups of people who may be adherents to this or other religions.  We will closely monitor this topic. Thank you.

Understood and appreciated, Lexi.  I did not mean to imply that you had offended; it was a caution to responders not to get carried away.

Like all groups, I think it depends on the practitioner. I've got a Catholic friend with twins. One came out as bi, the other as trans. She loves them both just as much as she did when they were presenting as their birth sex.

Institutions can get... bad. Really any institution, but I've read recently that a lot of churches are pivoting towards being more intolerant. The reason given was that they're hemorrhaging members and they've chosen to hold tight to the members they have instead of seeking to gain new members. That means labeling more people as "other" and telling their members that the church is the only place where they can be safe.

Not all of them obviously, but we're seeing a lot of behavior like this in the world right now, especially in older institutions with populations that are aging out.

Many Catholics i know are very accepting and loving people who are also upset by some of their church's policy.  Unfortunately others use policies to discriminate and deny those who do not live up to their "ideals".  It is a pity that the ideal of love isn't stressed more than male heteronormative rules.

Hugs,

When we speak of the Catholic Church, we are talking about the organization and NOT the millions of people that are Catholic by faith. There are many many Catholic people, that are kind, loving and accepting of LGBTQIA+ people. The Catholic Church is NOT. The organization teaches hateful things about LGBTQIA+ people. They teach things about Trans people that get us MURDERED all over the world.

WOW!   what a tough subject to talk about in open forum.

I am an ordained Minister.   I am spiritual, not religious.   I prefer to "love and give unconditionally" but I keep catching hate and anger viruses from society that I have to acquire immunity to over time.   Jackie Rabbit said in one of her videos that transitioning was the perfect time to shed all the personality defects you didn't like about yourself.   I am embracing this!    I can't change the world but I can change myself.  It is a work in progress.

   Much Love,

I don't really know what to say.  I've never been a Catholic, but it seems that  Pope Francis's heart has been in the right place on a lot of things.  There are centuries of tradition at work in the church - all denominations.  For most of my life I considered myself christian, but my beliefs have evolved and I don't now.

I used to have a fair amount of respect for Billy Graham, especially when he was older.  I thought Franklin was doing a good thing with Samaritan's Purse.  But he has gotten so hateful now - I just don't understand.

I was in a church one time that refused to help a young single mother because they thought it would be condoning her "out of wedlock" lifestyle.  Some of us still did it "unofficially".  Yet, they considered themselves loving, caring people.  Go figure.

And I do know a number of truly good a caring christians.

But I don't want to start throwing stones.  I believe we all live in glass houses.  There is no shortage of cringe moments in my past.

I was raised Catholic and find it like any so-called organized religion (just as I wrote that - Whole Lotta Love - came on..... ah) oh... I think all organized religions are wrong when it comes to the "obey OUR rules because they are the right ones" and what you say about what just happened it is the "we got the money and our MIGHT makes RIGHT" and that is so opposed to the writings and life of Jesus and Budha and Confucius and Mohammed and ...... I think each of us has our own values and our own journeys and so what I've seen in my own area churches was the hypocrisy and so I no longer believe in organized religion - I let my love and actions rule my life.

I wish I could help women health care and trans health care and especially what the so-called religious Pharisees have done, are doing and will do. Things have not gotten better than in Jesus's time - the names have changed - the actions have not.

All we can do is HELP where we can, SPEAK out when it's safe to do so and plant GOOD SEEDS when and wherever possible.

Religion and politics do seem to go hand in hand.  When Biden was elected he received a warm congrats from the Pope, but the leadership of bishops in the U.S. gave him a frosty reception.  There was a rumor for a while that he would not even receive communion.  I don't think they ultimately went that far, but it does seem like the U.S. bishops are out of touch with the Pope on a lot of issues, as well as being out of touch with their own U.S. members.  The church has been hemorrhaging members for years, but the bishops keep traveling the road to irrelevance.

I think the telling line in that one is, "said it would 'chip away at religious freedom." They seem to be having trouble with the idea that your religion limits the things *YOU* can do. Not the things that *I* can do. I see this problem cropping up a lot recently.

It's funny to me that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops is having pronoun trouble.

You know, except with funnier hats.

Protections? Well, when they mandate that some who is transgender can get facial and genital electrolysis paid as it is essential to affirming care, or when they mandate and pay for facial feminization surgery, speech therapy/voice affirmation surgery, I will believe that the order is effective. One of biggest hurdles for many transgender individuals is the cost of care. I remember when my one insurance company tried to say that my speech therapy and voice surgery were "cosmetic". I remember when they blocked paying for my facial surgery. I remember the fight I had to get electrolysis. These procedures could save someone's life if the procedures help the individual successfully transition, and are no longer misgendered.

I don't think it should be.  Nor do I see Project 2025 as pushing Christian nationalism.

The agencies are supposed to work for him.  The problem, as conservatives found out in Trump 1, was they will ignore the president and do their own thing.  The agencies are supposed to be under his control.   Congress delegated some of its law making authority to the agencies, which is another problem.   The bloated federal government needs to be trimmed.  Dept Education is worthless - test scores have dropped since it was instituted in the Carter administration consistently, and it is currently implementing Biden's woke agenda more than doing anything else.

I hope to eventually wear a suit for dance but don't know what exactly to look for. I feel like jumpsuit is safe option but I have been interested in wearing button up and formal pants. Is there a certain brand i should look for or sites I should look at for tips? My mom is not exactly keen on me wearing too masc clothing like suits just yet but is okay with jumpsuits. Also is there hair styling tips availible, my hair looks like image below. I might be able to get shorter haircut like pixie but am not sure yet.

It’s never been about him, but he is the Presidential nominee for the Presidency that starts in…2025. I don’t see a lot of conflation that this is a “Trump doctrine”, it a doctrine that benefits him surely, but it is a plan to instill crony governance and enact very Christian conservative (if not purely Christian nationalist) “order” on the country. If you don’t see this as the Right doubling down on Big G government, I don’t know what to tell them. Getting rid of agencies and giving the authority directly to the Executive isn’t shrinking government. It’s consolidation power.

It is the made up ideology they believe trans people are pushing on the world, those “poor young girls who are being coerced into believing they are men” and the “perverts who put on dresses and think they’re girls”. The anti-LGBTQ+ movement came up with the term. Being trans = you believe in trans ideology/transgenderism, supporting trans people = the same.   In the end anyone that acts on or thinks gender is anything but what is in your pants is a “transgenderist”, why not make it a word if it’s not, there is no real grey area. Unless you acknowledge there is transgenderism, but use your knowledge to “correct it”.  So I guess there could be transgenderist conversion “therapists”.  Face it, we deface the America they want. Land of the Free and Home of the Brave? I think being out and queer is pretty brave. And freedom shouldn’t just be for those who push a narrow “Christian ideology” as the “true” governing model.

Rants are not a problem.  My favorite hobby! :)   What's out there is bad enough that I wonder why some people feel they need to embellish it.  Be alert.   Some of this will need to be fought in court if they try to implement it. If people are out to get me, paranoia is justified.  And this may not be the only document.   Abby
    • Ivy
Not in so many words, therefore it's not there at all.  Excuse my paranoia. And the states passing laws against us are nothing to worry about either. Having to change my gender back to male (like in Florida) is reasonable.  I should just accept it, I mean I was born with a dk.  So that "F" is lie, and a fraud.  My delusions need to be dealt with for my own good.   I'm just frustrated these days.  Just a bit of a rant.

You probably remember the Target PR fiasco.  I remember reading an account from a woman who shopped there.  She went into a stall and did her business, and someone came into the bathroom and began swinging stall doors open, and when she came to her stall, the woman peeked at her through the crack. "What are you doing?" "Checking for perverts." The writer was so stunned by the absurdity that she finished up ASAP and got out of there, while the other woman entered a stall and locked it, made sure it was locked, and locked it again.

      Nothing about eradicating TG folk.

If 9 out of 10 parts are ok, that doesn't mean I need to accept the bad parts (that are aimed directly at me).  That seems suicidal.
    • Ivy
True, most of it has nothing to do directly with us.  It's the parts that do that are the problem.   I see the  few problematic statements as being a big problem.  Just because a lot of it may be okay, doesn't change that. Even supposing the rest of it might be good for the country, it doesn't help me if I'm being "eradicated".  I suppose I should be good with that, because it's for the "greater good".  If me being gone would please a number of people, then it's my civic duty to disappear, and vote to implement that.
    • Ivy
Yeah.  There are already laws against assault.  I don't think the overwhelming majority of trans women have any desire to harass cis women.  Speaking for myself, if I go into a women's washroom, it's because my eyeballs are already floating - not for kicks.  And I worry about getting clocked and assaulted by some guy being a "hero."
