Swings and Cycles

I am happy to be in transition but I seem to cycle between ecstasy and sadness. Today I am in?the sadness cycle. Thank God I know these are normal cycles and need to be good to myself until the ecstasy side comes back.

i have found that the longer i am on hormones that i am becoming more female as for as my body is concerned.That said, i find that once a month i am prone to the mood swings aka periods. Others that i have talked to also experience the same thing. Crazy thing, my girlfriend and i seem to have ours at the same time every month.

So I also go through cycles, but I think it is more related to my depression cycle more than hormones, though they may have become a new contributing factor. I've had issues with depression for a few years now, and what I have learned to do is use the up swing to build up your defenses for the down swing. Then when I am in the down swing, I focus on just surviving it.

 

An example is right now I am on an upswing, so I am reaching out to people, and making as much forward progress as I can so that way when my next drop happens, I am pushed as far forward as possible.

@AmberM excellent. It takes a lot to know yourself and understand your cycles and to realize what they are and when they happen and be able to act as you are doing now. It is a huge step knowing you are bigger and stronger than those downward swings.

I used to have those, the sadness cycle would get pretty intense. I've always been that way. Medication helped me get stable, and I have been able to work on myself to the point where I am on a tiny dose of it and have been feeling pretty good for a few weeks now. I was triggered by a few things this morning, mostly walking around the store and seeing cute young couples, that always stings. But, I am able to pull myself out of that now and move on and enjoy my day.
