A View To Her Room

I had a young friend who spent all of her time in her room

So lonely her two companions are her despair and gloom

How could this happen to a girl as brilliant as she

Quite simply stated the world insists she is a he

Outside of her room all around her is in chaos

No one tries to understand just yell and boss

Why a girl with such a brilliant mind

So much trouble for friends to find

Could it be that just being transgender

The only reason this process to hinder

What is it about us that makes people fear

This beautiful young one with no one near

She should have friends and her parent’s love

But instead she receives none of the above

Yelled at and cursed at she just goes to her room

To visit her only companions her despair and gloom

Would you want to be the one that is treated like that

You would show more compassion to a dog or a cat

People are people no matter what kind

The importance of all is all in the mind

We have to have laws to make us accept

Please be specific we are terribly inept

One for each race, religion or creed

We have to be told that is our need

If you leave one group out or don’t dot an I or cross a T

Then that group is fair game for all hate groups to see

You have made them a target by a simple act of omission

I would say good job but only if that was your mission

So with no one anywhere it seems to care

It is back to her friends, gloom and despair

I would love to have a happy closing to this one but it would seem out of place, so we all need to go out and make our own happy lives - especially you, Eth.
