NCAA Eyes Tournament Locs in States That Banned Trans Girls From Sports

If organizations start taking revenue out of people's pocketbooks in the name of Trans, won't that have an opposite effect from what is desired?

So I guess my question is, should Trans activism pressure corporate america to act in ways that cause economic loss to geographical regions of the U.S.? I mean after all, trans folk do live in those regions as well, especially in major metro areas.

This is not a case of Trans pressuring corporate America so much as the corporate America pressuring the legislatures and yes, making the citizens aware of the danger their legislators have put them in.  In this case, the NCAA, which is a nationwide association of Colleges will have teams from states where Trans athletes are a vital part of the competing teams and the policies being contested are unfair to those teams from the other states.  The real danger is that self deputized civilians will attempt to disrupt the fair and valuable competition by possibly abducting the out of state athletes under claim of citizen's arrest. It could also endanger the parents and chaperones of the athletes who accompany them.  In plain words it will create the unfair and hostile environment the law is supposed to combat.  These organizations of sports clubs are allies to Trans.  The goal is to get the legislation repealed before it becomes a preventable economic drain.

OK, I'll rephrase,

Major League Baseball (MLB) took a huge hit to its brand when they decided to move the all star game from Georgia to Colorado based upon the Georgia legislature's passage of a law that some say disinfranchises minority voter participation. People have been screaming about this...and not in a good way. Some even are saying that MLB is disrespecting the democratic process and the will of the voters.

Now on to the NCAA. It appears that as of now, the NCAA is trying to avoid the brand hit by not taking into account legislative issues, particularly anti-trans issues, in making its Baseball regional tournament hosting decisions.

"Jeff Altier, the committee chairman and the athletic director at Stetson, said last month that his committee had been given no directive to exclude any school from consideration for hosting a regional."

So as of right now, it seems as though the only thing that is going to force the NCAA to factor in anti-human rights legislation in their decision making process is Activism, particularly Transgendered Related Activism.

But if said activism causes a school/region to be excluded from consideration because of Trans related activism, will that cause a negative perception of transgendered individuals?  The respone to MLB has been loud.

In MLB's case, it was they alone who made the decision. However, if the word Transgendered is associated with an NCAA decision, will the public immediately assign the blame to Transgendered individuals and thus portray Transgendered individuals in a negaitve light?

The politicians of Georgia would try to have us believe that MLB's decision to move the all-star game is hurting the citizens of Atlanta and Georgia.  This is political smoke and mirrors, however.  What hurt the citizens and is preventing them from enjoying the game and the potential revenue, is the legislation itself.  Entities like corporations and sports associations have a lot of power because of the revenue they can generate.  It can make them a powerful voice when calling for social change.   There is no denying that advocacy can be become much more effective when it targets the pocketbook.

Except for the local municipalities, it seems that MLB's decision to move the all-star game out of Atlanta is a widely supported decision.   My hope in all this is the politicians who wrote the legislation and those who supported it understand that their beliefs are out of sorts with the rest of the nation.

I'm hoping to read the next section today.  Many of the reforms they are calling for are good, such as expediting the military procurement process, and have nothing to do with transgender issues.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.

      Who, precisely, are "they"?

Wife of mine pointed out that not getting a haircut for a month looks hideous - weird bald patches.  So back to super- short buzz cut.  This morning I braced, looking in the mirror.  I look like a woman trying to pass as a a guy, maybe  a small-breasted woman with enough T treatment to grow a mustache.    I would not believe me if I read what I write about me.  This is nuts.   White t-shirt: that they sell in the back of WM so you can tie-dye them or otherwise decorate them. They are thick and long lasting and slightly fitted, so that they could be a man's.  I like them.   Jeans, flip flops.   I will no longer point out these are women's.  What else would I wear?
