Hello , Im Gina 33 from the UK , Liverpool. I found your website after watching a few Jackie Rabbit videos on youtube and have been lurking on it since last Halloween 2020 when I came out to my Mother and Sister as maybe trans, gender questioning and definately not cis male.

I have known what was a "transexual" since I was about 7 years old because of the film Crying Game . Finally watched it when I was 25 years old to scratch an itch ( yes it is quite transphobic film ). Then the Danish Girl , that made me cry and my heart fill . I supressed these feelings with Alcohol, drugs and heavy work load.

It was the lockdown where there bars were closed and I had become sober finally that I had to accept myself to live on to continue the next chapter of life.

My sister was accepting , being a millennial just a few years older than me. When I opened up to my mother it was uncomfortable but had to be done. I broke her mentally for about two weeks and I was sorry for causing her distress. I told her I would always be her son , just not the version she had in mind.

We agreed not to talk about it anymore and that I would apply for the Gender Clinic through the NHS when I move out of home.

Its been over six months and I have had to live with my father in the city and Im terrified of ever coming out to him become he is an old school and respected working class hard man of the asian community here. Have to be safe for now.

Now the gyms are open I have an excuse to go out and present androgynous for now. I even had euphoria from my own shadows when I ran, as Gina.

Wish me luck for finding my own space and ill see you on the forums.

Love, G x

Hi GIna, Welcome. I'm from the new england area and the owners of Livrpool FC are the same owners of the Boston Red Sox. I hope they do a better job with them than they do with the Sox.

Anyways, if the long process of transition gets you down, we can always talk about a midfielder or two.

@Gina.Maklo I am so glad you came and yes Jackie Rabbit is a wonderful goodwill ambassador and it would nice for you to make a post thanking her. She see it and smile.

I can relate to your experiences (loved The Crying Game) and I visited Liverpool (big Beatles fan and play left handed bass in tribute band). I really enjoyed every minute I was in your city

I am sorry your mom isn't as accepting as you'd like but as in the case of my wife give her lots of time and space. It feels like she will accept as she goes through her own grieving period. As for your dad sounds like know is not the time but as you work with gender clinic and therapist and grow more confident in yourself you will face that bridge when it comes.

Hugs and ask as many questions as you like. We're all here for you as you can already see.

Hi all , I am really grateful for your kind words. I had been reluctant to check for replys to my introduction as I had major anxieties or some shyness to face the unknown. Thanks again .

Love G x

Hi @Gina.Maklo I hope you are staying safe & sober. The gym sounds like a great outlet for you. I like the image of Gina running free. God bless.

@Birdie @Adrianna Danielle    @Willow    Big news today. We're moving to WA. My wife is taking a job and I am most likely losing mine, so it's adventure time. I'm supposed to be a risk-seeker (Aries, ENTP, etc.) but this is hitting every klaxon and alarm in my brain, but it's going to make my wife and kids happy and it will be a place to make new friends as me without the 45 years of binary baggage. There are tech jobs all over Seattle, which we'll be near, and it's a decent State for trans rights (I don't know how it compares to MN, which is a refuge state). So wish us luck! This could be the best thing ever or rocky as hell, who knows!

I know the feeling. I had to replace the dishwasher, fridge, stove. The only other issues that could pop up is the washer and dryer and the microwave oh I forgot the toaster.

That's the hard part of online relationships, they really never get to see the whole you. You either have to create a persona that will carry the day until they get to see you for who you are, or be open and take the risk because it's really easy for them to disconnect because there is little to no bond.   You have to share pictures of your puppy! I am not a dog person, but I can appreciate them in jpg format! My kiddos would love to have a pet, but we're all allergic in some shape or form and my wife and I are like, "no." :D

I'm sorry Birdie! I wished you could move to a non-stressful place.

I love shopping for cars with my imaginary budget lol. A mustang is always fun to drive! Every time I felt down or depressed I drove it and it made me happy!

Well things have actually been really good lately. I got a dog last Friday. I forgot how expensive they are but they are worth it. Now if I can just get him potty trained that would be awesome! He only has one particular spot inside that he likes so I try to watch him carefully. He is part German Shepheard and part Lab. He is very low maintenance. The sad part is that he didn't know what to do with a treat nor did he knew how to play fetch instead my youngest was playing fetch. He is kind of getting used to toys somewhat. I'm no longer expecting a relationship because I tell them what is wrong with me because I don't want them to be surprised about anything and they always ghost me. Oh well.

Thank you! I really appreciate your comments. You have done quite a lot and I hope it still continues.

Even with the court ruling, the problem is that many of the insurance companies continue to have exclusions for everything unrelated to a vaginoplasty. For folks who are transgender females, we still get no protections to ensure we can get electrolysis (other than for genital preparation prior to vaginoplasty), voice/speech therapy or surgery, facial feminization procedures, or body contouring. There are many components that go along with managing our dysphoria. When the government mandates all of these measures, then I will say it was a victory.   I am still worried that all of the progress will be eradicated if the election goes poorly in November.

I have gotten compliments almost always from women. It feels nice.
