Moving Forward

Good morning Everyone

I now have a Dr's appointment set for July 5th to discuss HRT and schedule blood work, and I also have an appointment with our HR dept to let them know I am going to be coming out to my Boss. I feel safe in doing so as my company is very supportive of LGBTQ+ issues and has at our braches supported Pride month. That said I am excited I am moving forward and finally getting to become the girl I was meant to be, but also I am scared as hell too. I am so happy I have found this site, I have learned so much here already and to be with such a great group of supporting people.

@Billie75B That is exciting Billie. Best wishes and good luck. Sounds like a very supportive company and talking with HR first is a good route to go before talking to your boss. I'm not saying to hold off, but it might be good to have a few months of HRT before moving forward. That time can be emotionally changing anyway and it takes some getting used to. Just a suggestion.

That is a good idea and the HR person was very sweet and supportive. She told me that our company has several transgender employees and that I am not alone and that she will insure that I have their full support when I start my transition. Plus she would get all insurance forms and also get things in place in case I need any extended time off. She to told me to hold off a little while on telling my boss.

@Billie75B that sounds like a well trained HR person. My workplace would never have been that good from my experience. You are working at a very good company indeed.
