The day before my court hearing to change my name I was a bit nervous and near 5 o'clock as my family came ashore from a trip to Put-In-Bay, Ohio , this sign appeared in the sky and especially being a rainbow I knew the folks above were giving me the thumbs up.

Did anything unusual occur just before you changed your name or if you haven't changed names - have there been any other special signs given to you that you are on the right path?

Shay, I'm glad you received that lovely sign of support from above.  The only "sign" i remember of that day was making several green lights in a row on my way to the courthouse.  :)

I was lucky in that I didn't have to go to court, just get my Deed Poll witnessed here in England. It was a fantastic day though. My family were being difficult about the change and really upset me, so decided to get it done without their support. I used work collegues as witnesses. The office had been abandoned due to covid and nearly everyone was working from home, but I asked my two witnesses to come into the office to get the deed done. As it happened, word got out and most of my floor came in to join the party. Around 30 people and they all brought snacks! So, my sign that I was doing the right thing was the level of people turned out to support me.

You can't choose family, but you can choose your friends and after a few photo's were taken and published on FB, it forced my family to acknowledge what they were missing out on. Love and friendship x

@Carolyn Marie come to think of it - every light was green between me and the courthouse - that to was a first.

@LusciousTheLock sorry your family wasn't there to support - nor were mine - I went alone but was so pumped up it wasn't necessary to have others although I don't remember driving home.

I had dressed up a bit for my hearing in a nice knee length suit, stockings, heels and a nice blouse.  I was carrying my briefcase with all the documents and on the way to the courtroom was approached by a woman asking if i was an attorney.  It wasn't actually a sign but it certainly gave me more confidence.

Hugs,

I drove a hitcher across Montana.  We talked about alot of things.  After I dropped him off, I saw both ends of two rainbows at once. (=4 rainbow ends, and I've never seen even one other than this). My heart knew it was about my transition.

(Rainbow =New Covernant?)

Mysteries continue.

For names,  I kept lists of ideas and combinations for a couple years.  Hundreds of names.  When I filed petition for name change, I entered on the form the very last, most recent name combo.  Turns out, in addition to beautiful meanings I didn't plan on,  my new first, middle, and last names have the same number of letters each as my old ones.

You can rearrange, but you cannot escape yourself.

@Maddee I hope so because I just made my wife very angry so that didn't go so well :(

No court hearing required in Colorado. I had to go back the next day because in my nervousness I forgot to sign my paperwork. It was the county clerks fault too since she was supposed to witness my signature. I guess that is a negative sign?

I decided to do my name change earlier than I planned for two reasons: I need a legal name change to update my badge at work and it gives the feeling of security I need to face the naysayers at work.

Congrats @Erica Gabriel. I still know I did the right thing but I have another personal issue that arose yesterday and it was because of me that it happened. Fear and sadness are back.

Well it's personal, so I won't pry but may your issue be resolved quickly and very much in your favor.

Hugs!

@Jackie C. thank you it's one of my character flaws that effected my wife and put me on shaky ground again with her.

I am about 5 weeks ahead of you ... best wishes to you! For me it has been subtle changes at most so far (if any) ... but I am also on the "beginner's" level of patch, lol ...    Easy

Oh, another comment.   I am a conservative evangelical with strong Republican leanings. So is my wife, my friends, my family. I disagree with a good amount of what the Republicans are doing, but there it is.  I understand the mindset, I think, a lot better than those who are outside it do.   When you insult Republicans you insult me, my friends, my family.   People like me can struggle with trans issues.   Please consider that in posting.

I found this as well. No playacting, they just appear: the finger waggle wave; bracing my elbow on my other arm that's folded across my chest, wrist in the air half-cocked; walking a bit more fiercely... All that. My wife thought I was mocking her at one point!

I find my lack of time to read the thing frustrating, and I will not really comment until I have read it.  This is a wholly inadequate response.   1.  I think there are some legitimate concern.   2. Thoroughly discussing this will consume many threads.   3. I disagree partially with @MaeBe but there is partial agreement.   4. The context includes what is happening in society that the authors are observing.  It is not an isolated document.   5. Trump, if elected, is as likely to spend his energies going after political opponents as he is to implementing something like this.    6. I reject critical theory, which is based on Marxism.  Marxism has never worked and never will.  Critical theory has problems which would need time to go into, which I do not have.   7. There are groups who have declared war on the nuclear family as problematically patriarchal, and a lot of other terms. They are easy to find on the internet.  This document is reacting to that (see #4 above).   8.  Much of this would have to be legislated, and this is a policy documented.  Implementation would  be most likely different, but that does not mean criticism is unwarranted.

Sort of bracing myself for flipping, because I am wearing f and of course I wear f and it is natural to wear f and what else would I wear?  The  novelty is long gone out on this.  I wore a bra most of yesterday but we had a Zoom call and I took the bra off because I was concerned about the straps showing.  I missed it.    My body is saying "I am female!  Treat me that way!"   In the past it has screamed about this activity that  I have done to it.

This is what I'm scared of.  And it's quite possible. Apparently Chicken Little was right.

Finally I  am back online   I had to use the help of the contact form (not proud  of that, I always feel embarrassed and shy about contacting people), but here I am   missed all of you

I'm not happy to admit this, but I usually scream or break things.   Breaking things became a bit of a no no, because It was always a cd or something I liked and it got very expensive to replace stuff

Probably amusement parks. I've never been to one sadly, but I think I could talk for an hour about them without any problem

The name "Mississippi" comes from the Anishinabe tribe of Native Americans; the word means "Father of Waters."
