it makes me so worried that one day I'll be forced to detransition just for survival's sake

No legislation will ever force me to detransition. If some man-made law ever went that far, I’d go down with the ship cause this country wouldn’t survive with a government with that much control.

FWIW, I have just read about three different legislators who admit they joined in a shark attack and feeding frenzy of bills and now have serious moral and mental problems seeing what they took part in without considering the consequences of what would happen IRL.  They are now getting news of what they unleashed in a relatively short run that bodes even harsher reality for the future.  Any blood is of course too much to spill, but they had not seen it even in the future at all.  We need to keep showing just enough blood to them to act on their latent consciences, but not too much to immunize and numb them to the sight of it.  Red may be their political color, but not when it is marinating them and ruining expensive suits.

This is pretty much were I am with it also.   I don't want to live as a man again.

Wing nuts like those in the article below (from Arizona, but more are chiming in from other states every week) are why I don't post pictures of myself on this site, even though I love it dearly.  TransPulse is a lifeline!

The direction of things points to chaos in coming elections led by newly elected secretaries of state who support (indeed, trumpet) The Big Lie, without a shred of actual evidence.  Many states, with SCOTUS-tolerated gerrymandered districts, will continue to ignore an overall state majority who oppose the entrenched R state reps.  And in statewide elections (such as for governor) where gerrymandering can't affect the totals and there are Democratic governors (like Wisconsin) the R-dominated legislators have gone out of their way to hamstring and curtail the powers of the governor as much as possible.  Already states like West Virginia are trying to prevent the use of state referendum to let the people decide issues -- lest anything like the recent vote for abortion rights in Kansas be allowed in *their* state.  I believe we'll be hearing more in the coming two years about battles over this in a number of conservative and "purple" states.

And these places are doing everything in their power to raise another generation of haters, by taking over school boards, banning hundreds of books in school and public libraries, and "revising" textbooks to edit out any material uncomfortable to the white citizenry, including slavery (now referred to as "forced relocation" in Texas by some) and LGBTQIA+ folk (by removing all references to us) and generally proclaiming anything they don't like as "woke", and therefore to be eliminated by increasingly Draconian measures.

This is not a game.  I am fortunate to live in Massachusetts, where I can be me with minimal hassle.  States that I used to visit in my youth are no longer places that I wish to visit, lest my feminine-leaning appearance and my "X" drivers license "offend" the conservative beliefs of their citizens and police.  I am far more in tune with Scandinavian countries (which I have visited dozens of times) than I am with the increasingly foreign, conservative states of the US.

Never has the expression "absolute power corrupts absolutely" been as relevant.

So true, @VickySGV!  This is a classic case of how being in a group makes some people lose touch with their personal moral beliefs.

Hence the value of diversity.

I am right there with you sister! It is perfectly fine to inadvertently take nuclear arms documents and other classified material to another residence/business site that has a lot of public traffic. It could happen to any president who flouts the law. Thank goodness it was not someone committing the atrocious crime of supporting the LGBTQIA+ community.

The more amazing thing is how uninformed, illiterate, and outright stupidity there exists in the RNP. I am astounded that we have such a satanic status among the acolytes of Trump. One wonders "Why us?"

I'm already out publicly, so there's not much point in trying to hide anyway.  So I'll be in the camp, I guess.

This is what's been happening in NC as well.  Actually, the state is pretty evenly divided population wise.   But you'd never know it from our congressional delegation.

I'm not going to give the Dems a pass though.  They're going to court to keep the Green Party off the ballot.

Good morning :)   I have coffee today, but the cup keeps leaking (I guess the cap isn't able to fully seal or something), so I keep having to wipe up the sides lol   Almost finished all my missing work for school, which means if I do a bit more work, I should be out of trouble with my parents (not even that bad of trouble compared to when I was younger, more just an annoyance haha)

Good morning 😘   Finished packing up my kitchen and pantry for fumigation today. I also modified my backpack to make it day-centre compliant.  I was able to get almost 2 hrs sleep last night, so I'll survive. 😑

I'll be going to some Pride events as a spectator.  Maybe marching in a parade if they have open participation.    The event we'd prefer to go to is held in a small town with a population of less than 600.  They have a parade through all three blocks of their downtown area.  Unfortunately, this year it is on the same day as a memorial service for a friend who passed away this winter, so we'll have to miss it.  So our second choice is a larger town, population about 9000, a bit farther away.    And we are keeping our eyes open for other events in the general area as they are announced.   I dress a bit flashier than normal, with some trans bling, such as rainbow or trans flag earrings, a trans symbol pendant, and a handheld trans flag to wave.  Political sentiment is turning against us, but public sentiment here is still strongly on our side, so getting out and showing the flag, both literally and figuratively, is important.

I had that going on with my last two partners who were 20 years older than me.  One of them looked older for her age as well.  I remember a couple times being in the grocery store a decade ago and having people ask "can I help you ladies with something?" and then I'd turn around with my red beard.  Well before I started transitioning, but my partner knew I was trans back then.   I struggle with this as well.  My music and political career can have a masculine edge to it that I don't like.  It's been really frustrating lately.  I don't like pushing myself on others or telling people what to do.  I've been running a website for 25 years and have virtually never tried to promote it or even look at any analytics.  I don't want to push it on anyone.  I put what I have on it and make it publicly available.  It's part of my production process.  It keeps me sane and if someone else can find it useful, then I'm happy to share.

I'm curious, but then if I am true to myself, I have a hard time being in crowds.  I love hearing great music, but being in an audience is such a turnoff for me that I don't go to concerts or bars.  I'm just very much a producer.  I actually like doing the dishes more than going to concerts because it's an active thing.

My therapist is trying a new tact. I've named my self protection self that ssays not eating or too much exercise because when I starting because oftrauma my protective self started and also at the time the name Shay came to me and is now part of my name.  It's not like having a split personality, just my primative self protection who is always there to help me. My therapist has Shay, me and him working as a team to assure her that I am safe and to start changing her role in my life so I protect me by eating right and exercising to maintain a heathy body. It is helping a little but we just started this a few weeks ago.
