After Breast development...

I am curious about how tender my breasts might be after they have stopped growing. I am about 11 months on HRT now, and mine have been tender off and on but seem settled at an A cup for about 6 months now. 

 

If that is it, that is fine with me! If there is more to come I am good with that too!I just love how they finally reflect who I am and are truly part of me!

 

But I do wonder after reading of so many experiences of tenderness during growth, what they are like afterwards.

Based on my own experience and those of many of my friends, chances are that after 24-36 months or so your breasts will stop being sensitive or tender and things will become stable.  That means that they will "just be there" and shouldn't cause any issues or concerns.  You won't think about them any more than any other body part, except of course that they will be breasts, with all that implies.  That doesn't mean that new growth spurts won't occur, or that if you bump them there won't be an "ouchie."

 

By that time, also, you (and they) will be eligible for a mammogram, which you should get every 1-2 years (depending on current medical standards).  That will temporarily cause you, and them, some discomfort.  But its something very few transitioning women ever mind, and most (including me) considered an interesting and affirming right of passage.

I have certainly found a mammogram to be a confirming process.  I simply have had great chats in a place where it isan all female environment.  The squeeze isn't too bad but certainly not pleasurable.

Thank you Carolyn Marie and Charlize, that is helpful. And I do love ok forward to mammograms, although my wife and friends think that is crazy.

 

Since my tenderness and sensitivity was never that extreme, I am not sure if things are still changing or not. But I do know changes can continue off and on for 2 to 3 years so I guess I will know after that!

Mine still get ouchy from time to time after 5 years.  I assume it is a random small growth spurt.  I think I may have gone from an AA to a genuine A in the last couple of years.  That would be good.  It is really hard to get a bra in a 38AA!  It would be nice to fill something off the shelf.

 

Yes, my first mammogram earlier this year was a very affirming experience.  In the interview before the X-ray, the tech asked all kinds of questions, including, "Do you still have your uterus?"  Wow, talk about affirming!  I told her that I had never had one of those, and then waited for the double-take before explaining why not.  It was nice that she didn't assume anything.

 

The actual procedure wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't painful either.

Still pretty tender after 3 and a half years on E. I have a friend who mentioned that HERS are still growing at seven years. Your mileage may vary wildly.

Pretty scary, I seem to inflict an ouch moment on my breasts/nipples several times a day - never intentionally.  I was hoping it might only last a few months.  Oh well, focus on the rewards at the end of my journey - taken same approach with the roller-coaster ride of electrolysis.

Perhaps walking into the edge of the door will never be as painless as before but the sensitivity has its pleasant aspects as well.

I think that's more about your chest being an exciting new shape that your brain isn't used to yet. I haven't accidentially bulls-eye'd myself in a while.

Absolutely. IMHO the beneifts GREATLY outweigh the disadvantages.
