Tucking tape? (MTF-Groin)

I have been trying many ways to conceal the groin situation to wear stretchy pants, bodysuit and swimsuit with not much success. Mainly been using gaff that give a different shape to the bulge but still is unsatisfying. I was wondering if anyone here used tucking tapes and what input I can get in making the right choice trying them out.

I could find something on Amazon.ca

Tuck Yourself Tucking Tape - DressTech - for Trans Women, Crossdressers, and Drag Queens (Light) : Amazon.ca: Clothing, Shoes & Accessories

In review some people say they are one time use and would have to bring extra ones if I need to go to bathroom.... I wonder if it is true!

I anyone has used tucking tapes please let me know about it because I really want to try but I don't know if it is so much of a money wise choice. maybe I could use them only for some specific days which I wear the clothing needing  flatter shape between the legs....

Hi Azgalia,

just yesterday I did order my first gaff. I also would be interested in tucking tape experiences.

Drew-Ashlyn made a video which might help. She does not specifically talk about bathroom breaks, but did wear the tape a whole evening till late night. She does use the DressTech tucking tape you found.

I hope I can explain this in a form appropriate manner.

I use all the methods of tucking from tape to a gaff. I do this so as not to develop any sensitivities. I can't say I have a preference for any one method.

I have used the product in the link and I actually cut the long tapered end down the middle. This allows for exposure to urinate which is important for me.

But better yet is medical tape, also sold online as boob tape.

I get at least the 1-1/2" width. What I do is cut 2 lengths, the length will depend on your personal anatomy.

I affix it along each side leaving tip exposure. It takes a bit of patience and practice to perfect but feels very comfortable and is convenient for the bathroom. Just make sure to catch the drips😊

I started tucking with Kinesiology tape without researching how it should be done, so I did it very WRONG.  I applied tape straight to my skin and stretched it as much as possible to be flat down there.  I did this far too long and suffered because of it - it took about two months to heal the damage my approach lead to.  I moved onto gaff, tucking thongs and I still suffer from my "must be flat" approach to tucking from time to time.  My gender dysphoria has reduced since starting HRT but my genital dysphoria hasn't noticeably changed.

Hi Trans22

Yes, going too tight definitely causes an irritation problem when taping. That need to be flat is a powerful driver for some misguided personal abuse. Fortunately I've not done anything like needing 2 months to heal. But dam, those jeans sure feel and look great!

A gaff is the best day to day option for sure.

I am about 2 weeks away from my first endocrinologist appointment for HRT. I am soooo pumped I can't wait to get started!

I'm kind of expecting that my genital dysphoria will actually increase as my changes. Not sure if that's a thing or not. But I plan to have bottom surgery to take care of it once and for all. 😁

Hi _Kira_,

For me, the biggest bonus to HRT has been the mental health aspects.  I still hate/reject what's between my legs but at least I've stopped thinking about using a kitchen knife to remedy the problem.

I can't tuck. I have a penile implant that won't bend enough. But on the bright side I don't mind still having a penis. I will never loose the function of it. Just pump it up and go

Oh my, just reading this post puts my dysphoria on overload.

But I'm glad it works for you, no pun intended. That's what really matters the most.

hi vidanjali !! i know exactly what you mean, i do have a few trans and otherwise queer friends nearby me but currently i present as 'cis' for obvious reasons so it's not all that easy for me to reach out and find that kind of community (though i do love my irls!!)   but yeah, i get this weird paranoia that if i come out to too many people it'll end up tracing back to my folks (not everyone knows my family is homophobic and being outed is a big fear of mine)   but im sooo happy to know that that feeling was just dysphoria !! i thought i was going crazy for a minute !!.   thanks so much for welcoming me, and you have a great day too !!

This is a fairly long video by Philosophy Tube,  (Abigail Thorne)  Discussing some of Judith Buttler's work and related stuff.   I wasn't sure where to post it, so if there is a better place, move it.

I have a fantastic therapist. She is so caring she has helped me open up so much. Unfortunately, She is ending her internship. Do to a hiring freeze at the VA she isn't going just go right into a position there.  My Endo is out of the Denver VA hospital. I haven't talked with her in probably 2 yrs. I am  looking to transfer providers and get back to seeing a GYN at the Cheyenne VA.

Shopping at the mall today and helping out at Torrid I excused myself to the restroom. The manager told me the restroom at JC Penny was much closer (I normally use the family restroom in the food court).   Upon arrival I discovered that JC Penny doesn't have a family restroom, it's either or.   The men's room was occupied with customers, and me going in with large breasts, long hair, and makeup was going to cause a stir, so I opted for the woman's room instead. I was the only one in the woman's room.    Texas state law does state that your must use the restroom that matches your chromosomes, and it's a misdemeanor to not do so, but it seemed to be the best choice (I really needed to go!)

I had some guy grab my butt on the ship.  I don't know how "real" it was, but I did not enjoy that at all.  Also did not enjoy the hazing I saw other people going through.  One person can only do so much to stop that when there are 10 people doing it.

I pulled this out of a stack of old military mementos yesterday.  I guess I didn't realize how cool this one was because I did so much of this kind of thing back then.

This internet video thing is pretty amazing.  I'd call it Zoom, but there are other platforms out there.  I prefer Zoom over Teams because Zoom puts me and everyone else in the same picture.  I like seeing the whole group in one shot.  Teams of course is about having so many people that you can't get them in the shot, or is it?   Just saying that I have never met any of my counselors in person.  Doctors, of course I have and I am lucky there.  They are 3.5 miles from my house as is the main transgender surgery place in town.  I've been doing virtual visits with the medical doctors lately though.  It feels like once I became steady state, they don't need to interact with me physically that much.  I have enjoyed going into their office in my nice clothing.
