Trans Voices In Three Acts -- Trans Life In Music and Spoken Word

On September 17, 2022 the Trans Chorus Of Los Angeles CA will be putting on its first FULL LENGTH. three act musical in over 3 years.  I am a non-singing member of the Chorus, but they have used my acting talents before, and they asked me to submit some material for monologues.  I actually submitted 3 short monologues and ALL THREE were accepted and are scripted into the show, which goes into "hell week" starting tomorrow in the theater where we will be appearing.  The theater is part of the Los Angeles LGBT Center in Hollywood CA.  All folks in the production (about 35) are either Trans or NB and there are going to be a wide range of emotions cutting loose during it.

 

I spent the day today putting one of my monologues, which is about my time in San Francisco having my GCS into a video format since I will be showing some pictures I took on the trip in with my spoken word.  I think there are about 1600 common mistakes to make putting that together in my software package including Microsoft Power Point, and I only made 1590 of them since I started this morning, but the short video is now done to my picky and obsessive standards which I hope the producer will not butcher upu too badly between now and next Friday.  It would have helped if I had really known what I was doing, but to me that is a really small type of thing.  The things we do to present Trans in a good public light, but I have to admit its a fun thing I never got to do as the old person.

I would refer them to the Chorus' Artistic Director or Executive Director for that stuff, but the answer is I would be happy to do that.  They can also contact GALA Choruses, which is a group of LGBT music organizations, which right now has over 7 Trans Choruses affiliated to it.  Most of them are in the west and mid-west, but at one time there was a group also from New York state and another from Boston, whose members I met once.  PM me here for more on this if you want to.
