Things have Been getting Better for Me

I have been diagnosed early this year! with major depressive disorder with psychotic features, general anxiety disorder, PTSD, social compaction disorder, and gender dysphoria. I am glad to feel better about myself and know what I am dealing with as well as improving myself. I have socially transitioned and it has made me feel a lot better. I don't feel guilty or question myself a lot less. I'm planning on going on hormones as a further goal and getting top surgery when I can afford it. I have been getting through my PTSD with emdr therapy. i am feeling much better about my life as of now.

I battle with similar diagnosis.  I trend more manic than depressive.  I find it impossibly difficult to admit that there is anything wrong with me.  I saw all the things that happened to get me where I am.  It was just one thing leading to another.

 

I was diagnosed 18 years ago.  Medications are a lifesaver for me, but I also did a lot of work changing my environment and the way I think.  One of my doctor's gave me the typical Patch Adams advice of "don't focus on the problem, focus on the solution."  I feel that it is all PTSD from having lived on the streets for a year, but I have not been diagnosed with that.  There have been some major bumps in the road in the last 18 years, but perseverance does pay off.
