House R's May Challenge Military Transgender Service Next Year

When you have no good to add, you attempt to subtract from the good that exists.  You then declare the good that was there was bad for ghostly "other people" in nebulous and foggy ways to show YOU have done good.  That is how it is.

This saddens me, as a non military person. I'm grateful for all who have stood on the line, raised their right hand, and taken the Military Oath. I've read in the past that only 1% of the American populations stands up to serve. I personally know several people who regardless of gender or sexual preference, have served well, and even earned recognition for service, above the call of duty.

On a different platform, I say the same thing about those who choose to be in Public Safety.

If you want to serve. Step up. Pass the physical and mental tests, and move on.

It should be that easy,

This is a wonderfully presented documentary TRANSMILITARY, about the story behind how the ban on transgender service members to serve openly was lifted.

In or out of the closet transgender members will serve. Hopefully now the service branches will have the data to show we are as mission capable as anyone. And hopefully someone like General Milley will say as much, & maybe explain this boondoggle of making transgender service members jump in & out of the closet is an impact on mission readiness.

Semper Gumby!

This does not come as a surprise to me at all, but the House republican caucus has long been not much more than a ruckus.  They are out of step with the rest of the country, and stand no chance of accomplishing an anti-trans (or any pro-hate) agenda for at least two more years.  Even if significant players in the military were not leading the charge at first to let transgendered people serve freely, I think they will not be able to go back to the way not was.  I think they (people in high command positions) already know that shoving people back into the closet would be bad for morale.  Going back also amounts to retreat, and commanders don't seem to like retreat.

I hope I am not too far off the mark in my assessment and not just whistling past the graveyard!  In the end, however, love is the only thing that can defeat their pro-hate agenda.

They are playing on the myths that nostalgia creates about many men as the only folks who can fight.  Simply a myth but one beloved and believable by some.

As we would say in the military ... YGBSM!

Sorry I can't spell it out ... you'll have to Google it if you don't know.  But that says it ALL 🤬

I am SO tired of the military being used for social experimentation. The only thing that should matter is the combat effectiveness of the soldier in question regardless of race, gender or anything else. Both major parties are guilty of this and are not likely to change. This hurts readiness posture and ultimately national defense. The bottom line here is that th4e GOP is wrong and needs to back off. During my 24 years of active duty I served with all types of individuals, some were poor soldiers but most were pretty good. This particular witch hunt is -censored- on steroids. Truly a soup sandwich.

I did have to google it because I figured it was after my time.  But YGBSM was The Wild Weasel motto--turns out it was before my time!  Did you work with 105s?

But as for the nutter politicians and their anti-trans agenda--It sucks for anyone who is trans or has someone they love who is trans or has gender dysphoria.  Especially when it appeared that so much progress was made for LGBTQ people during the Obama years.  Then the backlash...

Then having finally just figured out that I have been experiencing gender dysphoria for years and I simply couldn't see it...It makes me ask the question I know to be utterly irrational, pointless (and self-centered)...Why me? and Why now?

In my head I always understood those who said "this is not something I have chosen."  But it's a whole other matter to be the one who has to say it.

Having taken on the site, forums, and all of the bills, from Dev (May 2020) and because I also want to be fully transparent about the cost of running the site, I feel it's time to update this information. Sorry that it has taken me two years since I last gave an update, just life getting in the way.   If you'd like to donate, please do so via the green bar at the top of the forum pages.  The months of July through October are pretty heavy with annual and semi-annual expenses and every little bit helps.   Here's the breakdown as it stands now:   Chat is now free. (Stu now runs the Chat)   Regular Charges: There are occasional one off's as well. Forums:  $70.00 every six months (February and August, effectively billed in January and July). (Was $45 until 2022, support ticket system depreciated!) Resource Locator:  $53.00 yearly, this "widget" failed this year, so I have been able to find a (currently) free replacement. Resource Locator Mapping: Google maps, currently under the minimum monthly usage, so free. Email Delivery: $5.00 monthly currently free, changed to a service that offers a much larger monthly allowance. Server Rental:  $30.00 monthly. Greatfully sponsored by The Breast Form Store. Security Software:  Now included in the package we have. Domain Renewals: Approx $75 annual charges for Transgenderpulse.com, Lauras-playground.com and the server domain. Contact Us Form Software: $79 yearly (August).   Total Monthly Breakdown: $54.50 per month.  (Annual bills = $654) Updated May 2024 (Slightly down on previous years).   Now then.  I'm on a fixed income, which means I know what it's like not having a penny to spare.  If you're not in a position to donate, please don't feel guilty; I didn't take over here to turn a profit.  The lights will stay on.  Donations are very much appreciated, but they are not a requirement of membership.   An update to clarify a couple of points: Because you have to use your legal name with PayPal, emails confirming your donation from PayPal will be from a name with the initials "DS", not Petra Jane and the email used is tgp (at) uk-web***   Unfortunately, we can only accept payment through PayPal, and please ensure that you have permission to make any donation through a PayPal account, we have been stung by someone alledgedly using a PayPal account without the owner's permission and incurred an additional $20 chargeback to refund the donation!   We have recently seen a number of these of late so I am asking that genuine donators please add your forum username in the comment box so that I, and I alone, will know who has sent the donation and that it is genuine. Thank you. Also, this appears only to Members who are logged in on the forums, New Members need to have made a minimum of 10 posts.   Let me reassure you: Donations help towards ongoing costs related to keeping the site running, including hosting, bandwidth, etc. It also encourages us to commit regular updates, add features, and improve the service. Our promise to you is that this site and its use will always remain free of charge.     Petra Jane

This is the dress I'll be wearing this evening while we watch the Kentucky Derby. Not sure if I'll throw on heels or flats with it - probably flats but I haven't worn heels in a while and the Force is strong.
